SoulCalibur VI

best steam games

It’s been six long years, but Bandai Namco has finally made SoulCalibur VI. The wait has definitely been worth it as they have stuffed the game with tons of new content, including two story modes and two new guest fighters.

Despite being the sixth game in the series, SoulCalibur VI is actually a soft reboot, overhauling the main story and timeline. However, fan-favorite characters such as Taki and Talim are still here, along with the main mechanics the franchise is known for. Players will be juggling between light and heavy attacks to perform flashy combos, which is pretty standard for most fighting games.

This Steam game mixes things up with the Critical Edge and the new Reversal Edge system, adding more tension with a showdown in which you’ll have to select the correct button prompts. Each character also has their own Lethal Edge attack that briefly slows down time and crushes the enemy.

Between its lengthy story modes and surprising depth, SoulCalibur VI will definitely scratch that fighting game itch. We praised the game for its overall presentation and best story content in our full review.
