Today, Sega released an adorable animated short just in time for the holiday season titled “Chao in Space” that focuses on Sonic as he returns to the iconic area from the Sonic Adventure games, the Chao Gardens.

Sonic encounters a sleepwalking Chao and then we’re suddenly taken to a space battle where light battles against dark ala Star Wars style.
This special animated short comes from the same team that worked on the Sonic Mania Adventures and Team Sonic Racing: Overdrive series.

I really hope this means that we’ll see a return of the Chao Garden in a future Sonic game. We all know that was the best part of Sonic Adventure 2.
