Yesterday, Sony Interactive Entertainment finally revealed the looks of the PS5. It came with a sleek white and black color scheme.
Yet, many enjoy their consoles and electronics to be fully black, and we did see a version of the DualSense controller without the white body.
A prominent Japanese analyst even went as far as expressing concerns about a console without a black version possibly hindering sales in Japan.
It’s quite possible that Sony may still be holding an all-black version of the console hidden as an ace up its sleeve, so I decided to start-up Photoshop and make a quick mockup of what a black PS5 may look like.
You can see it below.
Do keep in mind that this is simply a black fan-made mockup, and an official console designed directly by Sony would likely look even better.
Yet, I’d say this conveys the idea quite decently.
Of course, this doesn’t mean that the white version looks bad. I’m sure many will love it. Yet, Sony isn’t new to offering different colors and having a couple of basic options probably isn’t a bad idea.
We’ll have to wait and see whether this actually happens or not. Personally, I’m hopeful. If it doesn’t happen, I’ll still grab the white version of the PS5 anyway when it releases this Holiday season.
