As she makes her way through her adventure, Aloy will come up against tougher and more deadly enemies. While her offensive skills can keep her protected to an extent, it’s worth upgrading her outfits, too. These can increase elemental and damage resistance, as well as buff certain abilities such as stealth. Of course, you don’t want to be going around in some unfashionable garments. Aloy has to look fresh as she slays, and these are the five outfits that will allow her to achieve exactly that.

If you’ve got to explore the snowy mountain tops in Horizon Zero Dawn, then do it in style with the Banuk Ice Hunter gear. While the specific outfit above is the heavy variant of the Ice Hunter range, the lighter versions adopt the same stylish blue and white tribal patterning.

Why did we pick the heavy outfit? Because of the badass half of a machine that Aloy has decided to don as a helmet. It doesn’t get much cooler than that.

Cured hide and fur interwoven with machine plates protect the wearer from Freeze damage. Typical wear for the unforgiving north.

Carja Blazon Heavy

Shedding off the bulkier look, the Carja Blazon outfits inject an assortment of color into Aloy’s outfit. The brighter blue contrasts against the navy and gold layered over the top to give Aloy’s battle garments an almost royal look about them.

The whole thing is then topped off with a light smattering of the corpses of Aloy’s fallen foes. Pieces of machine appear in the headwear, shinpads, and on the shoulders, too. If you’re heading into battle with some fierce Fire damage-dealing enemies, this should be your go-to armor.

The showy armor of Carja nobles and Hunters Lodge elites. Leather strips cured in plant oil protect from Fire damage.

As you can tell from the name, this outfit in Horizon Zero Dawn takes the fashion of the tribal world to a whole new level. Gone are the dull, lifeless colors of standard clothing. Made from only the finest Meridian silks, and featuring the brightest possible color combination in Horizon Zero Dawn’s world, this isn’t an outfit you want to wear if you like the stealthy route. They’ll see you from a mile off!

Unfortunately, this is definitely an outfit to venture out in if you want to feel fancy and important. Other than that, you won’t be getting any extra damage resistance like you do with others.

Made from Meridian’s finest skills, leathers, and machine parts, this outfit offers little protection but is highly customizable.

Nora Silent Hunter Heavy

Adopting a quieter color scheme than the previous couple, the Nora Silent Hunter outfits are going to be the top picks for anyone going for a stealthy playthrough of the game. However, the coolest-looking of the set has to be the heavy variant.

With a green netting over the top of lightweight, dull colored cloth, Aloy is able to camouflage into her surroundings. Despite being the heavy version of this particular style, it’s far less bulky than many of the other options in the game. It’s essentially a “futuro-Jurassic” ghillie suit, automatically making it one of the best outfits in the game, period.

Stitched for stealth, this outfit makes the wearer harder to see and hear.

Shadow Stalwart Heavy

While you won’t immediately be able to get the Shadow Stalwart gear, it’s totally worth the wait when you do get your hands on it. Now, Aloy can essentially kick the ass of giant robots all the while looking like Bat Girl.

With the deep purple contrasting with the deep grays and silvers of the machine plating accompanying it, this is a seriously fashionable, and equally protective outfit in Horizon Zero Dawn.

This Kestrel armor will make for a good disguise, and steels its wearer against blinding and sonic effects. Highly customizable.
