Valentine’s Day is almost upon us, and what better way to spend it than by celebrating this special occasion with your favorite video games? This year, a few popular games will be celebrating Feb. 14, and we’ve compiled them in a list that you can check out below.
Pokemon GO
Pokemon GO’s Valentine’s Day update is a cute one. During this period of time, players will have a higher chance of getting pink-colored Pokemon from their eggs. This includes Chansey, Clefable, Igglybuff, and all your other favorite cutesy Pokemon. Not only that, your partner Pokemon will collect candies twice as fast, and your Lure Modules will last for a whopping total of six hours instead of the usual 30 minutes. Why not take your Valentine somewhere nice? Preferably a cafe that doubles up as a Poke Stop so you can use your Lure Modules there.
Gears of War 4
Gears of War 4 is getting two new maps this February, along with a Valentine’s Day event, as well. Starting on Feb. 10, the event will offer new Gear Packs to earn, Valentine-themed bounties, and the return of Torque Bow Tag. Apparently there will be a Cupid-themed twist to Torque Bow Tag, as well, so that should be interesting for returning players.
Final Fantasy XIV
Technically, the inhabitants of Eorzea don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day. Instead, they celebrate Valentione’s Day. If you make your way back to Gridania, you’ll find Lisette de Valentione waiting to ask for your help in spreading the love in the world. Those who complete this timed quest line will receive a new emote, a minion, as well as an Orchestrion roll and a vase to decorate your house or apartment with.
Black Desert Online
Black Desert Online is celebrating Valentine’s Day with a literal popularity contest. Players will be able to gift chocolates to their favorite NPCs in the game, and those who gifted their chocolates to the winning NPC will win a few nifty prizes. That’s not all, however. On Feb. 14 itself, there will be a fireworks show in Calpheon city, so be sure to take your virtual loved ones there!
