Monster Hunter Rise

During its Tokyo Game Show 2020 presentation, Capcom showcased the first live gameplay of Monster Hunter Rise.

We get to take a look at a quest to hunt a Tetranodon, but first and foremost the developers showcased the classic tent with the item box and the ability to eat and manage your equipment.

Of course, the classic Palico is back, but now it’s paired with the new canine companion, the Palamute,

Of course, we can pet the dog, and the cat, and play with them. I can see a lot of memes coming out of this. The developers explained that these actions have no gameplay meaning, but they exist simply for fun.

Looks like the game has room for a lot of exploration if you prefer to wander around before you home onto your prey. You can find plenty of endemic life that can be collected to provide buffs and utility.

Both the new Wirebug and the Palamute can be used to facilitate exploration.

Of course, we also get to see the battle against the Tetranodon,

You can check out the video below. There’s definitely a lot to see.

Monster Hunter Rise will release exclusively for Nintendo Switch onMarch 26, 2021.

If you want to see more, you can check out the extended trailer released yesterday, artwork of the new flagship monster Magnamalo, and the original announcement.
