Outside of Nintendo’s grand Switch event, a number of titles have been quietly confirmed for the upcoming console. In case you missed any, here’s the scoop.
One of the launch titles for the Nintendo Switch not shown at the conference will be Konami’s Super Bomberman R. This game will be a simple throwback for fans of the original games, just with 3D stages and photo-realistic graphics. The game will sport a story mode than can be played with a buddy, and a Battle mode for up to 8 players. Along with bringing back the various members of the Bomberman family, there’s a new rule implemented wherein you’ll have to clear the stage in ways besides wiping out all the enemies.
Japanese Switch owners will get a few extra games near launch. Both Romance of the Three Kingdoms 13 and Nobunaga’s Ambition: Sphere of Influence will arrive, each with their own Power Up Kits. I am Setsuna will also join the fray, in addition to Disgaea 5 Complete. Both games will release outside of Japan later in the year.
While Skyrim was finally confirmed to arrive for the Nintendo Switch later this year, there’s more than Bethesda’s epic RPG on the horizon after the system releases in March. Players can also look forward to Minecraft, because this is a gaming console that doesn’t have it yet. For fighting game fans, you’ll be pleased to hear that Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Blazblue, and Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers will be arriving on the new system, though none of them have release dates.
A Deluxe edition of Mario Kart 8 will be a part of the Nintendo Switch lineup in late April. It’ll come with all the DLC, along with new tracks and characters, including the Inklings from Splatoon. Redout, a new racer title from SEGA, will be out in late March, and both Sonic Mania and another Sonic game have been confirmed to be coming to the Switch as well.
Ubisoft announced after the conference that Steep and Rayman Legends will be a part of the Switch family as well. Steep will come with all the content on the PS4 and Xbox One version, and Rayman Legends will have some extra bells and whistles. Neither currently have confirmed release dates. Finally, Minecraft: Story Mode and Puyo Puyo Tetris will come to the Switch, the latter of which will arrive in early May.
