Dead or Alive 5 will no longer receive further additional content from Team Ninja, thus ending its streak of seven season passes composed of cosmetic outfits for its cast of male and female fighters.

In a video, Team Ninja brand manager Yosuke Hayashi assured everyone that “the Dead or Alive team is very active” despite wrapping up development on Dead or Alive 5. However, Team Ninja failed to specify its next project, so don’t hold your breath for a new main entry for Dead or Alive just yet. Nonetheless, game director Yohei Shimbori said that the team stopped development on Dead or Alive 5 to “look into the future.” Shimbori adds that fans might not hear from Team Ninja anytime soon as the team prepares for its next endeavor.

As Dead or Alive 5 will no longer receive additional content, fans can now take a break from spending their hard-earned money for cosmetic DLCs.  Team Ninja has released a slew of cosmetic DLCs for the fighting game’s male and female characters, and it would cost a little over half a thousand dollars to get everything. Shimbori is proud of this, saying “we have created so much downloadable content that the sheer amount would be worthy of the Guinness Book of World Records.”

Dead or Alive 5: Last Round is currently available for PS4 and Xbox One.
