Today Compile Heart and Yostar showcased an extensive batch of gameplay of the upcoming Azur Lane console game Azur Lane: Crosswave, alongside news from the mobile game itself.
The gameplay focuses on the main story campaign, which stars two entirely new shipgirls, Shimakaze and Suruga. We see both story-related dialogue scenes and a battle against a Siren fleet.
What is most striking is how well the gameplay of the original mobile game was translated from 2D to an 3D action-shooter RPG. While there are a few differences in things like fleet composition, it’s striking how well the developers managed to retain the same feel while adding another dimension.

Speaking of the Azur Lane mobile game itself, today Yostar announced that in celebration for the Quixi festival all players are going to receive a new J-class destroyer in their mailbox, Jupiter.

To celebrate the upcoming Qixi Festival, Jupiter will grace your dock and arrive in your in-game mail during our next maintenance period. We hope you’ll enjoy the festival with her companionship~#AzurLane #Yostar pic.twitter.com/pGBp9bh4f7
