Yakuza 0: How Long It Is and How Many Chapters There Are

This article is over 7 years old and may contain outdated information

With Yakuza 0 being a prequel to the popular Japanese series, it is a perfect entry point for anyone that hasn’t played a Yakuza game before. Those people may also be asking questions about what they can expect from the game. How long is it? How many chapters can I expect? Well, the length of Yakuza 0 depends completely on how deeply you are going to dive into every extra thing the game has to offer, whether that be side-quests or karaoke practice.

To complete the main story, you’re looking at, at least 30 hours of gameplay. If you want to go with the sidequests on offer, you’re looking at doubling that with 60. There’s a ton to the game! The only certainty is how many chapters you will be playing through. There are 17 chapters in Yakuza 0 in total, with you switching between the game’s two main characters after every two chapters. The length of each chapter varies, but you can expect them to be at least a few hours long. Much of that time will be spent watching cutscenes (sometimes upwards of 15 minutes at any time) because Yakuza 0 has a lot of story to tell.

No matter how you play Yakuza 0 it is a fun experience that tells an excellent origin story for characters you may already know. You can read our review here.
