Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Torna – The Golden Age expands on the original game with a brand new story, and a few updated gameplay features. Torna takes place 500 years before the original Xenoblade Chronicles 2, focusing on the band of heroes that fought the out of control Aegis, Malos. You’ll see quite a few familiar faces, though, like Jin, Brighid, Mythra, and more. Despite being set so far in the past, certain aspects of Alrest remain the same, like the way Blades and humans fight together. Considering you have quite a few Blade party members, just like in the main game you’ll need Core Chips to upgrade and strengthen their weapons. Here’s how to get more Core Chips in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Torna.

Getting Core Chips in Torna functions much like it does in vanilla Xenoblade Chronicles 2, but you’ll have to play for a couple hours before you really get the chance. The easiest way to get more chips is by opening Treasure Troves, the various chests that you can find around each area. There are a ton of chests to find in both the Torna and Gormott areas of Xenoblade Chronicles 2’s world, and as long as you do a bit of exploring you’ll find some.

You can also get Core Chips from beating powerful enemies, as well as completing quests. The final y way to get more is simply by buying them at a shop. You’ll regularly come across shops in settlements and towns, with one shop selling Accessories and the other selling Core Chips. As you travel to new settlements, the shops will carry better chips.

The amount of Core Chips you get near the beginning of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Torna is very low, but as you play more of the expansion you’ll start getting quite a few.
