Xenoblade Chronicles 2 capped off a strong first year for the Nintendo Switch, with a massive world to explore, an engaging story, and a wonderfully complex battle system. Since then, the game has received a number of changes and updates adding on new quests, blades, items, and more. Now in September 2018, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 sees its biggest addition yet with Torna – The Golden Country, a hefty story add-on that takes place 500 years before the main game. If you’ve played Xenoblade Chronicles 2, you’ll know this story focuses on the lost country of Torna, and the past heroes that battled Malos to save the world. Of course, with a huge new piece of content, you’ll no doubt be wondering how much Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Torna costs, and how to get your hands on it.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Torna is available in a couple different ways, and you can even play it early, depending on how you get it. Anyone that owns the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Expansion Pass, which costs $29.99, will be able to play the expansion starting on Friday, Sept. 14. Torna – The Golden Age will be included at no additional cost in the Expansion Pass but it can also be purchased as a standalone title both digitally on the eShop, or physically in stores. The catch is that the standalone version won’t release until Friday, Sept. 21, and costs $39.99. Whichever way you get Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Torna, it’ll be the same game, and it’s a standalone experience that’ll have its own app on your Nintendo Switch, separate from the main game. Of course, if you’re wanting to jump in as soon as possible, the Expansion Pass is the way to go.
