How to Change Characters in We Happy Few

Recommended Videos

Announced a few years ago, We Happy Few has made quite a few changes to its core concepts over time. One big thing that has been added during the development cycle is a full-fledged story mode. When We Happy Few was first shown, it was a procedurally generated world in which the player would have to survive and escape by any means necessary. With the addition of We Happy Few’s story mode, players will now follow specific characters as they try to accomplish their own goals and unravel the mystery of this dystopian society. Surviving and escaping this crazy world may be difficult, but having a story to help players push through the barricades will further immerse them in this dark world Compulsion has created. Here’s what you need to know to change characters in We Happy Few.

Following the different characters happens on the game’s terms, meaning the player can not change characters on their own. When you finish one character’s arc, it will then take you to the next character’s and so forth. There is no way to manually change characters in the story of We Happy Few. This may change down the line with the addition of a patch or update from Compulsion, but for the time being changing characters is tied directly to the story.

We Happy Few is full of crafting, side quests, and managing meters like health, stamina, and thirst. Exploring the environment to unlock clues or potential new items is extremely important in making the most out of your run in this game. So be sure to refuse to take your joy and see what this world has to offer.

And that’s all you need to know to switch between the different characters in We Happy Few. At least you know you’ll meet them all eventually before the credits roll. For more tips, tricks, and guides be sure to check out our ever-expanding wiki.
