Class Changes are an integral part of Trials of Mana, and even play into the stories of its characters. Figuring out how and when to do them isn’t made readily apparent right out the gate though, which is why we’re here with a guide on how to change classes and what it does in Trials of Mana.
How to Change Classes in Trials of Mana and What it Does
Though Trials of Mana’s Class Changes are referenced almost immediately in the game’s story, they aren’t available to you right off the bat.
Instead, they’ll be made available after completing the first third of the game’s main story. This is right around the point when you reach level 17 or so, and when you find your third or fourth Mana Stone and Elemental.
Once this point is reached, you’ll be able to improve your character along a Light or Dark class path by interacting with any Mana Stone in the game; or, later on, by interacting with the Mana Statue in the Sanctuary of Mana.
The Light path typically offers a more varied array of skills and stats to your character of choice, while the Dark path offers them a more specialized approach to growth with major boosts in key skill trees and stats.
You can only change two times before you won’t be able to become any stronger with a class, and you’ll need to fulfill more demanding requirements each time you want to become stronger.
For example, while you’ll only need to be level 18 to execute your first change, you’ll need to both reach level 38 and obtain a Class Change item from ??? Seeds for the second change.
How to Redo Class Changes
Fortunately, if you decide you’d rather see what other Class Changes are available in Trials of Mana, you can do so rather easily.
All you need to do is interact with a Mana Stone or the Mana Statue, select a character to class change and then select Reset Class. This will return you to your original class, and from there you’ll be able to reassign your changes as you see fit.
Be warned, though, that you won’t be able to hold onto any abilities you learned from your previous change. All of them will be reset, and you’ll only have the new Class’ abilities to work with.
