Will There Be Another Undead Nightmare DLC for Red Dead Redemption 2?

Recommended Videos

Red Dead Redemption 2 continues Rockstar’s trend of massive open worlds with absurd amounts of detail. This time around players take the role of Arthur Morgan, a member of the same Dutch Van Der Linde Gang that John Marston, the first game’s protagonist, was. One of the most unique aspects of the first Red Dead Redemption came with its phenomenal Undead Nightmare DLC, pitting Marston against hordes of bloodthirsty zombies. With the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 the question now becomes, will we see another Undead Nightmare?

Unfortunately, there’s no indication that Red Dead Redemption 2 will receive any Undead Nightmare-kind of DLC, or any other big story-related DLC at all even. At this time, Rockstar hasn’t announced any story-related DLC. What we do know, however, is that Red Dead Online will be added to the game in Nov. 2018, in a beta form. If GTA V is any indication that’s where the big focus will be.

GTA V originally was supposed to have single-player add-on content, but due to the huge success of GTA Online Rockstar chose to focus on that instead. For years, Rockstar diligently added new content and events into GTA Online, which still has an active player base. It’s likely that the developer plans to do the same thing with Red Dead Online, and wants to make it their net big centerpiece online experience.

There’s still plenty of content to dig into with Red Dead Redemption 2 without an Undead Nightmare-style DLC, luckily. The game’s lengthy main story took us roughly 50 hours to beat, and there’s a wealth of optional content to dig into with stranger missions, hunting, tons of different collectibles, and more. Red Dead Online will expand on these options even more by weaving narrative and multiplayer together, letting you explore the Wild West with friends. Of course, there’s always a chance we could see zombies added into Red Dead Online as some kind of limited-time event, but only time will tell.

You can bet that Rockstar wants to bring plenty of content in the future to keep players hooked into the world they’ve created. Whatever the case may be, we’ll make sure to update you with any news on Red Dead Online or forthcoming DLC.

That covers everything you need to know about if there will be another Undead Nightmare DLC for Red Dead Redemption 2.
