Getting the Q-Beam in Prey

Recommended Videos

The Q-Beam is one of the most powerful weapons you can get in Prey, and there’s only one of them, so you definitely don’t want to miss out. First off, accessing this weapon requires you to have the Repair skills, which can be purchased with Neuromods.

When you enter the Hardware Labs to find Dr. Calvino, you’ll be tasked with exiting the space station through an airlock and going on a space walk to get to his body. His body can be found in the Combustion Lab, and you can repair the breach failsafe from here, which will give you access to the Beams and Waves Lab. After you’ve done that, head back into the space station, and go to the Beams and Waves Lab on the second floor.

Inside the lab, go to the console and select the option that says “Fire Q-Beam.” After a brief demonstration of what the weapon can do, select the option that says “Unlock Q-Beam.” Go inside the testing room to grab the weapon from the rack, and there you have it. You now have one of the most badass weapons available in the game.

That’s all you need to know to get the Q-Beam in Prey. Be sure to check back with Twinfinite and our ever-expanding wiki for more tips, tricks, and information on Prey.
