How to Customize & Mod Weapons in Overkill’s The Walking Dead

Overkill’s The Walking Dead is the latest game from Payday developer Overkill Software, and takes place in a walker-infested District of Columbia.  Players will take on the role of one of four characters and progress through the game upgrading their base, crafting items plus finding new weapons and weapon modifications. Here’s what you need to know to customize and mod weapons in Overkill’s The Walking Dead.

Now if there’s one thing we like to do with weapons it’s customize and mod them. It is a fairly important feature in most games and that’s also true in Overkill’s The Walking Dead. Everyone wants to make their boomsticks even better. However, players won’t have any mods for their weapons at the start of the game.

These are received through completing missions. Mods range from silencers, stocks, and magazines to scopes, grips and laser sights. Mods improve things like weapon stability, damage, rate of fire, accuracy, sound suppression, ammo capacity and reload speed. Mods can also hurt you weapons stats as well so pay close attention to that.

To customize your weapons with improved parts simply go to the main map menu in Overkill’s The Walking Dead and select Vault. From there you can see all your weapons and by right clicking on your weapon of choice you can add the mods you’ve found during your walker-killing escapades.

It’s that simple, now you’re ready to take on all the walkers you can handle. Well, maybe there’s some other stuff you can learn to make your post-apocalyptic life just a little bit better.

For example, you’ll need to know how to level up and upgrade your character, we have a lovely guide just for that. Crafting items is also an extremely important portion of Overkill’s The Walking Dead. Turns out we have a guide for that as well. Also, your boomstick might be able to take out a massive mob of walkers but sadly it’s useless against a wired fence.

Don’t ask me why a shotgun doesn’t get the job done, but some wire cutters will help you to get through that pesky fence like it’s nothing.

That’s all you need to know to customize and mod your weapons in Overkill’s The Walking Dead.
