Defeating some of One Piece Pirate Warriors 4‘s many bosses can be far from easy, especially if you don’t know how to damage them properly. That’s why we’re here with a guide aimed at walking you through the best ways to damage bosses in One Piece Pirate Warriors 4.
How to Damage Bosses in One Piece Pirate Warriors 4
More often than not, boss characters in One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 are highly resistant to damage thanks to their wealth of HP and Shield Bars you need to break through before they’ll take any real damage.
Not only that, but while their shield bars are active, they also have super armor; or, in other words, they are resistant to any sort of staggering from your attacks, no matter how much you hammer away at them.
This can lead to slogs of fights where you’re left hammering away at enemies, taking a fair bit of punishment yourself as you try to weaken them to the point of their health bars being exposed.
Fortunately, there is a way to avoid this. When fighting any boss, you can break through their shield bars more quickly and reduce the damage you take by waiting for the moment right before their attacks land, dashing out of the way and then hitting them with a counter attack.
This will deal more damage to the boss while also breaking down their shield bars more quickly, allowing you to break through their defenses without losing a large amount of health.
Which Attacks You Should Use for Counter Attacks
As for which attacks work best for counter attacks in One Piece Pirate Warriors 4, it varies based on the situation.
If you’re still getting started on dismantling a boss’ Shield Bar, than it’s best to use standard combos for your counter attack. However, if you’re close to breaking through a shield bar and damaging the boss proper, then using a special attack could blast through that last bit of protection and allow you to kick off the damage you deal to the boss with a bang.
Hopefully this cleared up how to damage bosses in One Piece Pirate Warriors 4. For more on the game, check out our guide on how to use Special Attacks as well as some of the game’s many character spotlight trailers from before its release.
