NieR: Automata – Petting the Pod

Even your tiny robot friends need some love and attention every now and then in NieR: Automata. A neat little feature in the game allows you to summon your Pod and rub its head. It doesn’t seem to boost your stats or give you any additional perks in battle, but hey, it’s a cute thing that you can do.

To pet your Pod, all you have to do is swipe the touchpad on the DualShock 4. By swiping it left and right multiple times, the Pod will fly in front of 2B, and she’ll pet it and give it a little head rub. The Pod will then respond by saying, “Report: Satisfied,” before flying back to its original position. And that’s it. If you’re ever feeling bored in the game, or if you want to show your Pod some love for never letting you down with those awesome lasers and programs, remember to give it a head rub in your spare time.
