Can You Change the Difficulty in Ni No Kuni 2?

Recommended Videos

Ni No Kuni 2 features an all-new real-time combat system that’s much faster paced than before. Right from the off, you’ll be smashing through enemies with impressive swinging sword attacks and dazzling magical spells. Ni No Kuni 2 really does make the player feel empowered even from its earliest stages, which is quite a change from most RPG experiences. There’s absolutely no waiting at all before you’re kicking ass and taking names. In fact, so much so that the difficulty of Ni No Kuni 2 is largely a total breeze during the early portion of the game. Especially when taking on monsters of similar level, and even when you’re fighting major boss battles. As long as you’ve got a couple of Soreaways and some half decent equipment, nothing is a match for Evan and his pals.

As a result, many players will be wondering if you’re able to up the difficulty and make Ni No Kuni 2 a bit more of a challenge. Well, we’re sorry to tell you that there’s no option to increase the challenge, either mid-game or before you’ve started.

Do bear in mind, however, that Ni No Kuni 2 is a long game. The first 10 or so hours are essentially one giant prologue before it really opens up. There is more challenge to be had later on, so if you’re finding the initial stages of the game easy, don’t let your guard down just. There’s also plenty of harder battles in taking on Tainted Monsters and exploring the dungeons of the Dreamer’s Maze’s. Areas such as the deserts of the eastern continent are also rife with higher level enemies to test your skills against.

Unfortunately, that’s all we have on whether you can change the difficulty in Ni No Kuni 2. For more guides on the game, be sure to check out our ever-expanding wiki.
