How to Go On Expeditions and What They Do in Monster Hunter World

Recommended Videos

In Monster Hunter World, you’ll be tasked with going out on a variety of quests and assignments. These mission all come with set time limits, and you’ll have to complete an objective within that time. However, if all you want to do is just explore the map and locales at your own leisure and hunt whatever you want, you can go on expeditions.

Unlike quests and assignments, you can go on expeditions simply by heading to the gate at the resource center, or just using your map to fast travel to another locale. Once there, you’re free to farm materials as you wish, and hunt or capture whatever monsters you encounter along the way. There’s no time limit in Monster Hunter World’s expeditions, and you can spend as long as you want before returning to the resource center. However, do note that the supply box won’t provide you with any extra items like EZ rations or potions when you’re out on expeditions. Those are reserved only for quests and assignments, so you’ll have to make do with your own stock.
