How to Capture Victory Points in Shadow of War

Recommended Videos

Middle-earth: Shadow of War gives players a glimpse at the large-scale battles that Lord of the Rings fans have come to know and love. During siege battles where you’ll be attacking a fort, you’ll need to play a sort of “king of the hill” mini-game. It will be up to your army to capture various victory points before taking over the entire fortress.

When you’re attacking, head towards the first marker that you’re shown. It’s an area within the fortress that has a circle surrounding it. When you and your army stand in this circle, you’ll fill up a bar. This tells you how close you are to being able to officially capture the point.

You won’t need to press anything, just keep filling up the bar by standing near the point. Defeat the enemies surrounding and you’ll find the job done in no time. Once it is filled up all the way, you will be able to hit down on the d-pad while within the circle to take over the victory point. This makes it so that all of the surrounding grunts get blown back from the blast. It’s an easy way to push back the enemy army, and when you’ve captured them all, you’ll just need to defeat the overlord in battle to claim the fort as your own.

That’s all you need to know to capture victory points in Shadow of War. For more on the game, be sure to check out our wiki.
