How to Carry More Consumables in Mass Effect: Andromeda

Recommended Videos

Players have a lot of different tools and resources they can take advantage of in Mass Effect: Andromeda. There are weapons, vehicles, party members, and powers, but there are also useful items called Consumables that you can make use of during gameplay. They come in different forms such as temporary ammo buffs, extra shields, or the ability to survive in harsh environments better. When you first start the game, though, you’ll only be able to carry two during a mission, which doesn’t lead to a whole lot of options in a pitch.

It’s a good thing that you’re able to increase the amount of consumables you can carry, though it does take quite a bit of time. You’ll first need to raise the Viability on Eos which requires completing missions and eliminating threats on the planet. You’ll want to get it up to 70% first (which can be done on your first visit to the planet), then to 90% which will take just a bit more time. These will gain you access to the Always Prepared and Versatility perks found in the Military Cryo Pods. Each one will cost you one AVP and will grant you one additional consumables slot. That means you’ll be able to take four out into the wild, giving you more strategic options during missions.
