4K and HDR Compatible – Mass Effect Andromeda

With BioWare’s latest sci-fi epic just around the corner, many fans will be excited to start exploring the brand new Andromeda galaxy. While the gameplay and trailers we’ve seen should be enough to reassure players that the game will look great at the standard 1080p, some will be wondering whether it will support a 4K resolution and will be compatible with HDR.

The good news is that Mass Effect Andromeda will be both 4K and HDR compatible. If you’re a PS4 Pro owner, you can look forward to stunning 4K HDR visuals, which will help to add a ton of extra detail into the galaxy. This was showcased during the system’s reveal last September, of which you can check out the footage for yourself here. If you’re a PC owner, you’ll also be pleased to hear that the game has been successfully running incredibly smoothly on NVIDIA’s latest GTX 1080Ti graphics card. While a playable 4K experience is by no means limited to this powerhouse of a card, you’ll certainly need some serious graphical power to run the resolution smoothly on PC.

With regards to HDR Support across all systems, BioWare’s GM, Aaryn Flynn, confirmed that the Xbox One S and PS4/ PS4 Pro would all have this from day one on Twitter.

Of course, don’t forget that to actually be able to appreciate Mass Effect Andromeda in 4K HDR, you’ll need a compatible display.
