Best Melee Weapons in Mass Effect: Andromeda
You’d be surprised at just how useful melee attacks are in Mass Effect: Andromeda. Sure you’re facing off against menacing aliens with powerful weaponry, but sometimes the best way to win a fight is with a swift punch (or stab) to the face. If you can up the damage with some extra effects while you’re at it, why not? There are several melee weapon options available ranging from daggers to gauntlets to massive hammers, but only a few can truly vie for the title of best melee weapons in Mass Effect: Andromeda.
Kett Carfalon
Best Melee Weapons in Mass Effect: Andromeda
This is a standard Kett sword that deals a considerable amount of damage. You can find these or even craft them under the Heleus Technology tab. What makes them so great is the way they attack. Most melee weapons in the game attack in a straight line making it ridiculously easy to miss your mark, especially if they’re standing really close to you. The Carfalon, though, has a sweeping attack that can hit multiple enemies and can deal with fast moving targets that try and get beside you. That alone is reason enough to make this better than most melee weapons available.
Asari Sword
Best Melee Weapons in Mass Effect: Andromeda
This slim weapon adds a Biotic Warp to your melee attack. Instead of just stabbing an enemy nearby, you can teleport over a moderate distance and even through cover to stab an enemy with a powerful attack. This is a great option for players who prefer mid-range combat as you can still have melee attacks as a viable option without constantly needing to stand right next to your adversaries.
Remnant Cryo-Gauntlet
Best Melee Weapons in Mass Effect: Andromeda
A personal favorite of mine, this weapon should not be underestimated. Of all the melee weapons in the game this one has the shortest range, so you’ll need a bit of courage to use it, but when you do, you’ll immediately be happy you have it equipped. It can freeze basic enemies in a single strike, allowing you to shatter them or have your squadmates do it for you. When used against armored enemies (yellow health bar) it slows them down considerably. It doesn’t freeze anyone with shields (blue bar), but if you can take the bar down first then it’s open season and it even works great on Remnant enemies, yes, even the flying ones. It also deals comparable damage to the Omni-Tool, so there’s really nothing not to like about it unless you really hate close range.
You can’t go wrong with any of these options, so pick a fave and watch the Kett fall.
