How to Get Shock Arrows – Horizon Zero Dawn

Recommended Videos

At the very start of Horizon Zero Dawn, the game will introduce you to standard arrows and their fire variants, too. Using a mix of these will become particularly important in taking down a number of the machines in the game, but others will be weak to Shock damage. For these beasts, you’re going to want to get your hands on Shock Arrows.

Actually getting these arrows isn’t the difficult part in Horizon Zero Dawn. They can actually be bought from the Merchants in the game. Unfortunately, though, Shock Arrows won’t just work with any bow. You’ll need a War Bow specifically in order to use them. While these can also be bought at Merchants, they can cost you quite a few Metal Shards depending on which one you get. Remember, the better the bow, the more damage you’re going to deal to enemies, so it may not benefit you to cut costs when picking up new weaponry.

Once you’ve got a War Bow, you’ll also be able to craft Shock Arrows from your Crafting menu. A set of these will cost you 10 Ridge-Wood, five Metal Shards, and five Sparkers.

That’s all you need to know to get Shock Arrows in Horizon Zero Dawn. For more tips, tricks, and information on the game, be sure to check out our comprehensive wiki guide.
