How to Switch Weapons in God of War

Being able to switch weapons in God of War is a feature that will allow for more fluid and flashy combos during combat. Switching between Kratos’ arsenal will give encounters variety, and sometimes you will need the right tool for the job. Kratos has his axe which can be equipped by pressing right on the d-pad on PlayStation or the number keys on PC, and can be sheathed by clicking the same button/key again.

Before reading on, do note that we are about to reveal Kratos’ second weapon in God of War, which might be considered a spoiler by some fans. Don’t read on if you want to go into the game completely fresh.

Kratos also has his Blades of Chaos that can be equipped by pressing left on the d-pad, and sheathed by clicking left again. These are an iconic symbol of God of War and are truly devastating to any foe who dares to look in Kratos’ direction.

Switching between these weapons can be done by clicking either left or right on the d-pad. When a weapon is sheathed, Kratos will begin to melee enemies with his bare fists, allowing for some truly gruesome combat encounters. Switching between Kratos’ arsenal and his fists will really showcase the spectacle in this entry of God of War. Be sure to switch constantly in fights to get a feel for the combat.
