What You Need to Know About Fortnite’s Birthday Challenges Not Showing

Recommended Videos

It’s Fortnite’s first birthday, and while Epic Games hasn’t sent us any real cake to chow down on for this special occasion, it has introduced a number of fun Birthday Challenges into the game. Completing all of them will net you some Birthday Cake Back Bling, as well as a spray, an emote, and 5,000 XP, too! While the Birthday Challenges themselves aren’t that difficult to complete in Fortnite, some players are having an issue where the challenges aren’t showing up for them to complete. Here’s what you need to know about Fortnite’s Birthday Challenges not showing.

First things first, if you were playing Fortnite before the patch went live today, make sure you’ve closed out of the game, downloaded and applied the update, and load it back up. The Birthday Challenges went live as part of the 5.10 update earlier today, so if this isn’t applied that’ll explain why they aren’t showing.

If you’ve updated and they’re still nowhere to be seen, fear not, you’re not alone. Epic Games has already acknowledged that Birthday Challenges don’t seem to be showing up for some players right now. However, a solution has been provided, albeit not an immediate one. According to the tweet from the official Fortnite Twitter account (included below) the Birthday Challenges will go live for anyone who’s suffering with this issue when the Store refreshes at 8:00 PM ET (00:00 AM GMT).

Though this isn’t an ideal situation, knocking a day off the time you have to complete these challenges in Fortnite, it’s unlikely that they’ll take you the full 14 days that the event is on for to complete. And besides, Epic Games may extend the event for an additional day to make up for the delay, but we’ll just have to wait and see if it does.

That’s all you need to know about why Fortnite’s Birthday Challenges aren’t showing for you. For more on the game’s fifth season, be sure to check out our ever-expanding wiki.
