What You Need to Know About the Blue Pump Shotgun in Fortnite Battle Royale

The latest update to Fortnite Battle Royale has arrived, and while it’s accompanied by the new Battle Pass challenges and a new guided rocket launcher, it also makes some changes to shotguns. In particular, the update seemingly adds in a new blue pump shotgun. Well, it’s not exactly new, but let us explain.

In the latest patch notes over on the Epic Games website, the development team notes that the color of shotguns has changed to more accurately represent their effectiveness in battle. As a result, while players used to be able to get Tactical Shotguns in the Green, Blue, and Purple colors, they’re now available in Grey, Green, and Blue. Nothing else has changed, though, so your blue Tactical Shotgun now will be just as powerful as the purple used to be.

It’s a similar situation with the blue pump shotgun people have been seeing. Due to the effectiveness of the old green pumpy, it’s been given a color change to become the almighty blue pump shotgun. No other changes to the way it reloads, or what damage it gives out. Purely a color change.

That’s all you need to know about the blue pump shotgun in Fortnite Battle Royale, and the color changes you may have spotted since the arrival of the new update.
