Unlocking The Jade Stoa Trial in FFXIV Patch 4.2

Recommended Videos

The Jade Stoa is a brand new trial introduced in FFXIV’s patch 4.2. It’s an entirely optional trial, though you will have to progress through the new batch of MSQs before you can access it. All you have to do is progress through the story until you clear the first solo duty instance. When you respawn at the Ruby Sea, talk to Soroban before advancing the main quest. Soroban will then give you the optional quest titled An Auspicious Encounter.

Follow the steps in the quest line to unlock the Hells’ Lid dungeon. You’ll have to clear this dungeon before you can proceed onward. Once that’s done, simply follow the steps until you’re told to talk to Byakko at Yanxia. This will then unlock The Jade Stoa in your Duty Finder. This trial has an item level requirement of 325, which shouldn’t be too hard to reach if you’ve been farming tomestones regularly and updating your equipment at Rhalgr’s Reach. You can also obtain higher leveled gear by doing the raids such as Deltascape and The Royal City of Rabanastre for weekly rewards.
