Fallout 4: Far Harbor introduces a healthy amount of new weapons, ranging from new versions of classics, to brand new types like the Harpoon Gun. Here are the brand new guns and melee weapons you’ll be able to get your hands on. Now dealing with the Wasteland’s threats won’t be so bad at all.
We’ve listed all of the Unique and Legendary weapons we’ve found in this new expansion, complete with what makes them cool and how you can get one for yourself. They’re in alphabetical order to make your life a bit easier.
There are some Fallout 4: Far Harbor spoilers ahead, though. Read ahead at your own risk.
Admiral’s Friend
So you’ve finally got yourself a Harpoon Gun, but now you’re looking for something better. Look no further than the Admiral’s Friend, a Unique Harpoon Gun in Far Harbor that has an interesting Legendary Perk. If your enemy is at full health, this gun will do double damage. So it’s definitely a weapon to fire first, before switching off to something else to finish the job.
To obtain the Admiral’s Friend in Far Harbor simply head over to Alan Lee’s Shop (located in the Far Harbor town). It costs a little over 1250 Caps but is definitely worth it just for that perk.
Atom’s Judgement
This is a brand new hammer in Fallout 4: Far Harbor. It deals a massive amount of damage and inflicts an extra 100 Points of radiation. It’s slow, but can easily one-shot most enemies making it insanely fun to use.
To obtain this weapon you simply have to complete “The Heretic” which we detail here. Once that’s done the weapon is yours. Make sure to mod it for extra smashing goodness.
Bloodletter
The Bloodletter is a unique Fish Hook in Far Harbor. A long, two-handed melee weapon with a barbed hook at the end. The Legendary Perk on this bad boy provides an extra 25 Points of Bleeding Damage (which is useless on bots, but good for just about everything else). To make things more interesting, you can upgrade it to have four hooks on the end, talk about overkill.
This weapon is actually a reward for completing the side quest titled “Blood Tide.” This quest becomes available to you during the second main story mission, and is given to you by Cassie. You’ll be tasked with avenging her family by killing Ghouls, sea critters, and a Raider. When you’re done, the weapon is yours.
Butcher’s Hook
The Butcher’s Hook is a cool melee weapon that does a ton of damage as it rips into your enemies. It’s Legendary Perk causes it to refill your AP whenever you land a Critical Hit. That means you can get off some pretty sweet combos if done right, especially if you’re a heavy V.A.T.S. user.
Obtaining this weapon is simple, as you just need to head over to Erickson, the same person who sells the dogs. You can get it for around 200 Caps.
December’s Child
This weapon is a Unique combat rifle that is much faster and easier to use than any other combat rifle in the game.It uses 5.56 ammo, has a 25% higher fire rate, and 15% faster reload time.
This weapon is found during the quest “Best Left Forgotten.” When you find the hidden lab that you’re looking for (we won’t spoil what it is), do what you’re supposed to do and you’ll come across a huge locked door with a computer named KYE 1.1. The computer will open the door for you if you can pass a Speech Check, or you can just bring Nick Valentine and get in instantly (definitely the preferred option). Once you’re in the room, head straight to the large chest at the back and claim your December’s Child sitting on a sink right next to the chest.
Defender’s Harpoon Gun
Yet another Unique Harpoon Gun. While this one doesn’t do the double damage on healthy enemies, it does ignore 30% of their damage and energy resistance, allowing you to really bring the pain.
Obtaining this weapon isn’t too difficult, as long as you don’t mind a few run-ins with some Mirelurk Queens. Complete all of The Mariner’s side quests and she’ll reward you with this gun.
Harvester
The Harvester is a Unique Ripper with the Legendary Perk that gives you the chance to stagger your enemy with every hit. This makes melee builds a bit more viable out there in the Wasteland, as it does a lot of damage, and can keep opponents off-balance. Since you don’t actually swing it like a normal melee weapon (it’s like a chainsaw that is constantly revving), you have a very good chance of staggering those enemies since you’re able to hit so many times in a short period.
You can find this weapon in Echo Lake Lumber (west side of the island). Locate the huge house with all of the shelves on the first floor and make your way up the stairs. There is an Advanced Lock at the top of the stairs you can pick, or you can work your way around to get into the hole in the wall. Either way, you want to continue going up to the attic where you’ll find a chest with this weapon. Have fun ripping Super Mutants to shreds.
Hitman’s Institute Rifle
This is a unique Laser Rifle that has a Legendary Perk perfect for those who like to take their time and aim. When aiming down the sights with the Hitman’s Institute Rifle you do 10% more damage (which can make a world of difference).
You’ll need to start “The Arrival” which has you dealing with a character named Chase who is located in Arcadia. The main plot of the quest is to find a missing Synth, and is pretty straight forward. For completing the quest you get this weapon. Some players are saying that it isn’t always a rifle, though, but you can always mod it to perform how you prefer.
Kiloton Radium Rifle
This is easily one of the best, if not the best, Radium Rifle you can get in Far Harbor. The gun has three types of damage: Ballistic, Radiation, and Explosive. That makes it a nightmare for all types of enemies you can encounter. You can even mod it for more damage, and take advantage of the Nuclear Physicist Perk. Yeah, this gun is badass.
To get the Kiloton Radium Rifle, you’ll need to be in good with the Child of Atom. If you are, head over to the Nucleus and access Brother Kane’s shop. He sells this weapon for a little over 500 Caps.
Old Reliable
Old Reliable is a new Lever-Action Rifle with an interesting Legendary Perk. This weapon fires an addition projectile when you shoot, giving it double the damage. It isn’t the most accurate option out there, but you can modify it to suit your needs, making it a versatile and quite handy weapon. Getting it isn’t too difficult either, as long as you have the Caps.
Head over to Arcadia and purchase the weapon from Dejen for just over 1000 Caps. It’s a steep price, but it’s definitely worth it, especially if you prefer using rifles. There aren’t too many options in Far Harbor that are better than this one.
Radical Conversion
Radical Conversion not only has a cool name, but it is also a pretty impressive Radium Rifle. It’s Legendary Perk allows it to ignore 30% of your enemy’s damage and energy resistance, much like the Defender’s Harpoon Gun.
The Radical Conversion rifle is obtained as a reward for completing the quest titled “Ablutions.” You can obtain this quest from Sister Mai of the Child of Atom. She can be found in The Nucleus. It’s essentially a fetch quest that will take you to the Vim! Pop Factory. It’s easy to complete so you should have no problem acquiring this gun.
Sergeant Ash
Seargeant Ash may just seem like another Flamer, but it’s Legendary Perk helps make it an extremely powerful tool of destruction. It has a 20% chance to cripple a target’s leg, essentially stopping them in their tracks. 20% may not sound like much, but when you consider the fact that ever second counts as a hit since it’s a continuously spraying weapon you can see why this is great. You pretty much cripple anything you come across.
To get this weapon is easy too. Just head over to Arcadia and talk to Dejen. He sells it for around 800 Caps. Now you can go set the world on fire.
The Fish Catcher
This is another Unique Fish Hook with a very useful Perk. The Legendary Perk on the Fish Catcher reduces AP cost by 40%. That’s a big deal if you’re a heavy V.A.T.S. user, and will allow for more strategic play with a melee build.
The weapon is very easy to obtain, as it can be bought directly from Allen Lee in Far Harbor for 325 Caps. So save up your money and go see him right away.
The Striker
There’s a very high probability that you have more than one Fat Man Mini-Nuke launcher. Those weapons are powerful, but not always the best option. Find yourself in a tight spot and you’re screwed. But what if your Fat Man could fire something else, that is just as deadly, and maybe even a little amusing?
Enter The Striker. This is a Unique Fat Man that fires Bowling Balls and has a 50% chance of crippling its target’s legs. To obtain it you’ll need to head to Beaver Creek Lanes, which is on the east coast of the island, south of the smaller island located to the northeast. Enter, and go straight to the locked door ahead of you (it has an Employee’s Only sign hanging on it).
This will lead you through some hallways and tunnels that are relatively easy to follow. As you make your way through, you’ll find The Striker on display along with a few bowling balls and a large safe. Enjoy.
Make sure to check back in for updates as we continue to explore the island wasteland of Fallout 4: Far Harbor.
