How to Guard (Block) – Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

While you may like to believe that you created the most powerful, badass warrior in all of history (don’t worry, we believe you too), there are still plenty of enemies out in the Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 universe that will certainly give you a run for your money. They’ll attack with little to no breaks, putting a lot of pressure on you. Thankfully, there’s a way to guard against their attacks to mitigate most damage and it’s easy to do.

To guard (or block, if that’s how you’re used to saying it) in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, you simply have to hold down L1/LB. This will protect against any attacks coming from in front of you, so make sure to stay aware of your surroundings if you find yourself up against more than one enemy, something that happens pretty often in the game.

Some things to keep in mind are that you can’t guard forever, and your block can be broken. Taking attacks for too long will cause you to lose energy and open you up to a potentially match-ending onslaught, so make sure to get the heck up out of there when you can. Also, if you see an enemy charging a move, dodge. This move will automatically break your block, stunning you for a couple of seconds. Throws can also become a headache, so keep an eye out for those as well.

Blocking is good when up against faster opponents than yourself, as it allows you to catch a breather while they’re up close. As long as you remember to alternate between guarding and dodging, you’ll be ready to take on any encounter.
