Dishonored 2 – Parrying Attacks
Parrying is a pretty important skill to learn in Dishonored 2, especially if you’re the kind of player who gets into a lot of combative situations. First off, both Emily and Corvo will start off the game with a basic parry ability. By hitting the R1 button (or RB if you’re on Xbox One) at the right time, you can deflect an enemy’s melee attack, and stun them for a little while. To parry a melee attack, watch your enemy’s actions and wait for them to swing their sword. Right before it hits you, press the R1 button to deflect the attack. The parry window can be extended if you use a rune to purchase the Adept Parry upgrade, which is found under the Reflexes ability.
To parry ranged attacks, you’ll need to purchase the Reflexes ability itself. Once you have it, you’ll be able to parry bolts and bullets. If you purchase the Superior Deflect upgrade, you’ll be able to deflect bolts and bullets and use them to hit surrounding enemies. With projectiles, you’ll want to hit the R1 button right before it hits you. This is a lot trickier than melee parries, as you’ll actually have to keep an eye on the ranged attacks coming towards you.
