Gjallarhorn

The Gjallarhorn makes a triumphant return in Destiny: Rise of Iron, and it’s probably the most sought after Exotic weapon in the game right now. Getting this iconic rocket launcher will take quite a bit of work and skill. First off, you have to complete a very specific patrol mission in Archon’s Keep, and investigate the anomaly at Site 6. This will allow you to scan the environment next to a Perfected Walker that you have to take down. This will initiate the Beauty in Destruction quest line, where you get to hunt down the remaining parts of the Gjallarhorn.

You’ll then have to collect a number of Iron Medallions, and head to Bannerfall on a mission to look for missing blueprints. Along the way, you’ll have to defuse two bombs while fighting off the Fallen. It sounds easy, but it’s insanely tough to manage if you’re flying solo. After that, you’ll have to collect five Dormant SIVA Clusters before finally unlocking the last part of the quest. This time, you have to fight off even more waves of enemies while waiting for your Gjallarhorn to be assembled. Once that’s done, take your Gjallarhorn and go crazy with all the Fallen and Perfected Walkers waiting for you outside.

Khvostov 7G-OX

To initiate the Khvostov Exotic quest line in Rise of Iron, first you have to dismantle a Year One Khvostov to obtain a blueprint that triggers the quest. If you don’t have one, head to the Divide (via the Plaguelands), and go to the area where you first started the game, and where Ghost found you in vanilla Destiny. There will be a large Fallen ship in the distance. Board the ship, kill all the Fallen, and look for a chest lying in the back of the ship that contains your Khvostov blueprint. This will also help kick-start the quest line.

Next, you’ll have to kill a bunch of enemies to obtain the weapon manual pages, and then you’ll have to hunt down three weapon parts to put the thing together. Once you’ve done all of these, talk to Shiro back at the Iron Temple, and he’ll give you the final quest to hunt down a Fallen major in the Plaguelands. Killing the major will net you your new shiny Auto-rifle, and you’ll get to have a nice, heartwarming chat with Ghost at the end of the quest as well.

Thorn

Everyone’s favorite, and most hated, Crucible Hand Cannon is back. The Thorn has a Year Three version, but unfortunately, it looks like getting the quest to trigger is completely random. You’ll have to complete bounties, and the quest will randomly trigger when you turn in your completed ones. Once you do get the Exotic bounty, you’ll have to complete the new Wretched Eye Strike. The Strike difficulty does not matter. Afterwards, kill a bunch of enemies to satiate the weapon’s appetite. Ew.

Once you’ve done this, it’s time to head into the Crucible. Here, you’ll have to use Void damage to defeat the opposing Guardians. Do note that private matches will not help to progress this quest. Thankfully, you won’t get any penalties for losses or deaths like in the original Thorn bounty, so just keep at it until you finish the quest step. Once that’s completed, consume five Motes of Light to cleanse yourself and the weapon. You’ll then have to complete the Abomination Heist Strike, and open the Strike Hoard with a Skeleton Key at the end.

Outbreak Prime

Like all of the raids that came before, Wrath of the Machine has an exclusive exotic weapon that is coveted by every Guardian in the galaxy. This weapon is called the Outbreak Prime and it has a special perk that causes it to create SIVA swarms that attack nearby enemies. Of course, being the new raid exotic means it won’t be easy to grab.

You will have to find all of the raid monitors, then complete several quests with a Fireteam that consists of a Warlock, Titan, and Hunter. We’ve guided the entire process for you over here.
