How to Get Legendary Shards in Destiny 2

Recommended Videos

Legendary Shards are a resource in Destiny 2 that is required for infusion. Without them, all of your fancy legendaries and exotics will stay at the power (light) level that you got them at. And unless they dropped at max power, that’s not something you want. You’ll notice that as soon as you start collecting these highly coveted pieces of gear, they can all be infused, but you must have the required resources.

Getting the required resources (which are Glimmer and Legendary Shards) isn’t overly difficult. You’ll just have to be okay with parting with some of those legendaries you’ve collected. Yup, you guessed it, you get these Legendary Shards by dismantling weapons of a legendary or higher rarity. Don’t worry, though, it’s actually really easy to get legendaries, since you simply have to level up vendors by giving them tokens and their preferred resources (you’ll have no trouble getting this stuff). Just keep what you want and scrap the rest. Soon enough, you’ll be swimming in Legendary Shards, allowing you to boost the power of your favorite weapons and armor even more.
