How to Get to the Dark Forest in Destiny 2

The Dark Forest is somewhere you’ll end up visiting a few times as part of Destiny 2’s story. However, if you want to return there to just take in the sights and see what it has to offer, you may be wondering exactly how. After all, for the subclass-specific quests, you were able to fast travel there. Here’s what you need to do to get to the Dark Forest in Destiny 2.

First things first, make your way to The Sludge, and seek out a small waterfall on the north wall. This isn’t the one directly behind you when you first spawn in here, but head straight on and take the first right that you can. Simply follow the stream of water and eventually you’ll see the are that the portal that takes you towards the Shard of the Traveler would be. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to head through the Portal outside of the subclass quests. However, if we’re correct in our assumptions, though, some of you are simply looking for the Treasure Chest that Cayde-6’s map has directed you to.

For this, simply follow the stream of the waterfall along until you spot the chest on your left. It’s not difficult to find, so just keep an eye out for the glow.

Of course, if you simply want to know how to get to the Dark Forest in order to complete one of the subclass quests, look in the top-right hand corner of the EDZ map. You should have a fast travel point that you can select. Head here and then follow your objective marker to continue the quest.

That’s all there is to getting to the Dark Forest in Destiny 2. For more on the game, be sure to check out our wiki.
