How to Bank Motes in Destiny 2: Forsaken’s Gambit Mode

Destiny 2: Forsaken’s new game mode, Gambit, is out now as of a free weekend and will be available to once Forsaken is fully released on Sept. 4. Gambit is not like anything you’ve played in Destiny 2 before. Well, it is a little, since it mixing elements of PvE and PvP, but it truly is a unique game mode that is not only a first for Destiny, is something that we wouldn’t mind seeing more of in other games too. Competitive PvE is a sorely underrated game type.

Anyway, in Gambit, your goal collect motes that drop from defeated AI enemies, such as the Vex, and then bank those until you reach your goal of 75, which unlocks a final boss that you need to defeat before the other team to win. You can either go the strategy of banking motes right away and just try to kill faster than the other team. Or, you can hold onto them and bank larger amounts at once to create Taken blockers for the other team which prevents them from banking motes until they clear it out. The risk, or gambit, is that if you die while carrying motes, you lose all of them. So the longer you wait, the riskier it is.

To bank motes in Gambit, look towards the central location of the map you’re on, that’s usually where the bank will be located. Go to it, press and hold square/X, and you’re all set. Keep in mind, if there is a Taken blocker near where it would normally be, it won’t be accessible until you defeat that threat. So make sure to take them out ASAP to resume your progress.

That does it for how to bank motes in Destiny 2: Forsaken’s Gambit mode. Best of luck out there, and have fun!
