Everything Else
There are many other strategies, but they all come down to the same conclusion. Attack Flamelurker when it misses you but don’t get greedy with dealing damage. If you try to hit the boss too many times in a row you could easily find yourself back at the last archstone.
The most important takeaway here is that this boss is weak to magic attacks. Soul Arrow and Soul Ray are the best spells to use against Flamelurker. If you don’t have a Catalyst or Talisman of Beasts, then any weapon that inflicts magic damage will do the trick too.

Here’s a quick breakdown of how to beat the Flamelurker boss fight in Demon’s Souls:
- Use a magical weapon, Soul Arrow, or Soul Ray
Flamelurker has low magic defense, so it’ll take massive damage from magic-based attacks.
- Basic Strategy
Don’t risk throwing out an attack at an inopportune time because you’re getting impatient. Just wait for Flamelurker to miss attacks, then make this demon pay.
- Stealth
The Thief’s Ring and light armor will let you sneak behind pillars. Hide, strike from behind, and repeat.
- Ranged
Run to the steps opposite the entrance and launch spells or arrows until Flamelurker attacks. Run to the entrance, run back to the steps, attack, and repeat.
