Combat Rig

One of the new features in Infinite Warfare’s multiplayer is its Combat Rigs. These are essentially preset classes that you must base your weapon loadout on. Each one has a unique trait and payload which are moves or abilities directly related to their strengths. Each one also plays into a typical Call of Duty playstyle, so finding the one that matches the way you play is essential.
If you’re an all-round fighter who enjoys taking enemies down in a variety of different scenarios, then the Warfighter is for you. Alternatively, the Merc class is all about heavy defense and suppressive fire, perfect for supporting your fellow players in an all-out assault scenario.
Not only is it important to ensure your Combat Rig suits your style of play, but you should be making sure you’ve got a good balance with your teammates if you’re going to be playing together a lot. The Combat Rigs have been balanced so that not only do they all counter one another effectively, but they can all support each other when on the same team. Don’t just discard this as a redundant feature, it could help you edge a win against the opposition.
Learn the Maps

Like in any multiplayer shooter, the learning curve can feel pretty steep when you first jump in. Not knowing what weapons suit you best, or knowing the layout of the maps can leave you getting killed every 30 seconds and it can be frustrating. However, learning the maps can give you the upper hand against your opposition. Knowing which routes to take and when, during a game can help you to avoid danger as well as give you the perfect opportunity to catch your opponents off guard.
Learning which walls you can wallrun on, the main choke points on a map, as well as spawn points are all crucial bits of information you take for granted in a shooter you’re a veteran of, but can be your downfall in one you’re not.
Mission Team Challenges

Mission Teams are a new feature in Infinite Warfare that allows you to complete a number of different challenges to level up your progress within each one. As a reward for completing these challenges and your dedication to a particular team, each one has a number of unique weapons that are far more powerful than the standard variations.
Therefore, it’s important not to ignore these challenges that appear in the top right-hand corner of your screen during a match. Though they may mean you have to play a little differently, unlocking these exclusive weapons will be more than worth it in the long run. Just don’t forget to keep checking your progress within the menus in case you’ve already got one unlocked.
Fine Tune Your Loadout

When you’re finally able to create your own class in Infinite Warfare, it’s important to take the time to acquaint yourselves with every perk, weapon, ability, and throwable weapon at your disposal. Though you’ll often be limited at the start of your multiplayer career in terms of the options you have available, as you progress you’ll unlock more weapons, scorestreaks, and options to fine tune and tweak your loadout.
This opens up a number of new possibilities for adapting your loadout to your playstyle. Even changing one perk to a new one you’d forgotten you’d unlocked could be a fundamental improvement for your playstyle and could see you shooting up the leaderboards. Just because you’re comfortable with a loadout doesn’t mean it’s the best option for you. Be willing to try something different out for a few matches and you might find you’ve found your new favorite.
Prototype Weapons

Prototype Weapons aren’t something you’re going to come across easily in Infinite Warfare and for good reason. These are incredibly powerful variations of the base weapons you can normally choose from. They each have a trait or ability as a preset, thus improving their effectiveness in battle before your perks even come into play.
In order to get your hands on them, you’ll need to purchase them with Salvage that can be found in Supply Crates, or get very lucky and find one in a Supply Crate itself. With a little bit of luck, you’ll be able to grab the prototype of your main weapon, allowing you to rule over the futuristic battlefield.
