Bravely Default 2: How to Steal Items

Bravely Default 2 is the brand new JRPG from Claytechworks and Square Enix that’s releasing for the Nintendo Switch this week. It features a pretty extensive and in-depth job system, as well as a lot of classic skills and abilities pulled from all over the JRPG genre. Here’s how to steal items from enemies in Bravely Default 2.

Stealing Items from Enemies in Bravely Default 2

As you’re probably already expecting, the Steal ability requires you to have the Thief job on a character. The good news is that you won’t have to wait too long to get your hands on it.

Once you reach chapter 2 in Savalon, keep playing through the main story until you reach the third boss of that area. Without spoiling too much, that boss will drop the Thief Asterisk once you defeat them, allowing you to assign that job to any or all of your characters.

Once assigned, simply keep leveling up the job by farming JP through battles or using JP Orbs until you get the Steal ability. In combat, you can go to your abilities menu and use it to attempt to steal items from enemies.

If you keep leveling up the job, eventually you’ll gain the Mug passive ability, which gives you a chance to steal an item automatically when you attack an enemy. This allows you to save a turn while also dealing damage to the enemy, so it’s definitely worth trying to get Mug before you take off the Asterisk.

That’s all you need to know about how to steal items from enemies in Bravely Default 2. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
