Update 2.0 is finally out for Animal Crossing New Horizons players, and it’s a big one. It finally adds Brewster and the Roost to the game, and also comes with an expansion to Harv’s island where NPCs can set up permanent shops, as well as a cooking system. There are also quite a few quality-of-life improvements, such as the ability to store DIY Recipes in your storage and set up ladders around your island. Here’s how to build permanent ladders in Animal Crossing New Horizons.
Building Permanent Ladders in Animal Crossing New Horizons
With this new addition, you no longer need to lug ladders around whenever you want to scale cliffs on your island. The newly added ladder set-up kit will allow you to build permanent ladders that you can climb up, making it much more convenient for you and your visitors to get around.
First off, head to Nook’s Cranny to purchase the ladder set-up kit DIY Recipe for 2,000 Bells. Select it from your inventory to learn the recipe, then craft it at a workbench.
The materials required are listed below:
- Ladder
- 5 Wood
You do still need to craft a ladder for this recipe, but you just need to craft enough for your island and you never need to worry about it again.
To use it, stand next to a cliff face, then select the permanent ladder set-up kit from your inventory. Set it down, and you’ll be able to press A to climb the permanent ladder to head up the cliff. The best part about this is that you can press the Y button to pick it up again, and place it somewhere new.
That’s all you need to know about how to build permanent ladders in Animal Crossing New Horizons. Be sure to check our guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
