Meet the Voice Actors of Monster Hunter: World’s English Cast

The faces behind the voices.

Eden Riegel – Handler – Eden Riegel has has a very varied career. In the late 90s and early 2000s, she appeared in movies such as the original American Pie and Jack Black’s Year One. You may also know her for playing Bianca Montgomery for a decade in the TV show All My Children. However, she has played characters in English versions of some high profile video games over the past couple of years. She plays Genny in Fire Emblem Heroes, Devola/Popola in NieR: Automata, and Iris Amicitia in Final Fantasy XV. She plays The Handler in Monster Hunter: World.

Jamieson Price – Commander – Jamieson Price is best known for his deep and booming voice that he has lent to the English versions of some popular anime shows. He is the Colonel in Akira, Walter Bernhard in Castlevania: Lament of Innocence, Hercule in Dragon Ball Super, and Largo the Black Lion in Tales of the Abyss. He’s also appeared in some live action titles, including Mel Gibson’s The Patriot. In terms of video games, you may recognise his voice from Persona 5 (Sojiro Sakura), Middle-Earth: Shadow of War (Nemesis Orcs), and Mortal Kombat X (Ermac/Announcer). 

Matthew Mercer – Field Team Leader – Matthew Mercer is a very experienced video game voice actor and you’ll know his from many hugely popular titles. He plays McCree in Overwatch, Hit in the recent Dragon Ball FighterZ, the male version of the player character in Destiny 2, Deadshot in Injustice 2, Jack Cooper in Titanfall 2, Yusuke Kitagawa in Persona 5, Tim Drake / Robin in Batman Arkham Knight, and Gundahar in Knack, among others. If you’ve played any of those games, you’ll probably recognise his voice when you meet the Field Team Leader in Monster Hunter: World.

Karen Strassman – Provisions Manager – Karen Strassman has appeared in some live action shows, including Weeds and Silicon Valley, but she is best known for lending her voice to the English version of anime shows. She plays Kallen Stadtfeld in the Code Geass series and Miyuki Takara in Lucky Star. You may also know her for her work on Persona 5, Wolfenstein II, Sonic Forces, the Fire Emblem series, and Fallout 4. She plays the Provisions Manager in Monster Hunter: World.

D.C. Douglas – Analytics Director – D.C. Douglas has appeared in many US TV shows over the years, including The Bold and the Beautiful, Berserk, Z Nation, and Days of Our Lives. However, those of you who are looking to play Monster Hunter World may know him as Pod 042 in NieR: Automata, Suguru Kamoshida in Persona 5, or Odin in the Shin Megami Tensei series. Interestingly, he is also a director, leading the production of Breaking News: Fake Trump Cartoons!

Michael Sorich – Tech Chief – Michael Sorich is best known for his long standing relationship with the Power Rangers franchise, playing Squatt in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Decimator and Zelton in VR Troopers. You may also recognise his voice from Resident Evil: Degeneration, in which he played Senator Ron Davis, or for playing Ishikawa in the original Ghost of the Shell movie. He has also played Gen in the Street Fighter series and Falstad in Heroes of the Storm.

Xander Mobus – Second Fleet Master – Xander Mobus is the most recent voice of the announcer and the characters Master Hand and Crazy Hand in Super Smash Bros, playing the characters in the 3DS and Wii U games. He is also the Conductor in A Hat in Time, Darios in Fire Emblem Warriors, Hero in Persona 5, and Abigail in Street Fighter V. Recently, he has been Rufus in Final Fantasy VII: Machinabridged. He’s only in his mid-twenties, so he has plenty of years ahead of him to work of more high profile video games. 

Cindy Robinson – Tracker – Cindy Robinson most famous TV roles are as Makoto Nanaya and Gii in the Blazblue series and Queen Beryl in Sailor Moon, but arguably the most recognisable is as Betty Boop in commercials. Fire Emblem Warriors’ Hinoka, Mass Effect: Andromeda’s Paaran Shie/Captain Dunn, and Street Fighter V’s Helen are also character’s of hers. She plays the Tracker in Monster Hunter: World.

Keith Silverstein – Seeker – Keith Silverstein has played characters in many anime series, many of which have a connection to video games. He has played Vector the Crocodile in the Sonic shows, AZ/Charon in Pokemon: Generations, and Kirby O’Neil in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He’s has also lent his voice to some actual video games, including Call of Duty: WWII, Danganronpa V3 (Mondo Owada), and Persona 5 (Masayoshi Shido). He is the Seeker in Monster Hunter: World.

Richard Epcar – Admiral – With a smile that matches the wide grin of the character, you may recognise Richard Epcar’s voice from Injustice 2, in which he played The Joker. He also plays the equally menacing Raider in the Mortal Kombat games, the Principal in Persona 5, Terra-Xehanort in the Kingdom Hearts games, and Judge Cornelius Holden in Mafia III. He has also featured in the English versions of Ghost in the Shell (TV show) and Pokemon: Generations (as Giovanni). He plays the Admiral in Monster Hunter: World.

Salli Saffioti – Third Fleet Master – Salli Saffioti, also known as Celeste Henderson in some credits, is predominantly as video game voice actor, rather than an anime actor like many of the performers in Monster Hunter World’s cast. She has played characters in 2016’s Hitman, Fallout 4, Gears of War 3, and many others. She is also a general voice over artist who has worked on marketing campaigns for huge brands. 

David Lodge – Captain – David Lodge is known, more than anything else, for his voice work in the Power Rangers franchise, having played Villamax in Power Rangers: Lost Galaxy and Loki in Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue. In terms of popular anime, he has voiced Kenpachi Zaraki in Bleach and Jiraiya in Naruto. He’s also worked on video games such as, LawBreakers, Final Fantasy XV, Persona 5, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Destiny. He plays the Captain in Monster Hunter: World.

Mick Wingert – Chief Ecologist – You’ll struggle to not mix Jack Black and Mick Wingert up since the latter is best known for taking on the roles of the star of Kung Fu Panda for the TV show, Legends of Awesomeness. He’s also played Iron Man/Tony Stark in the Avengers TV show and Marvel vs Capcom Infinite, Vigilante in Arrow, Kane in Titanfall 2, Brax in the Ratchet and Clank remake, Boss in Akiba’s Beat, and Mighty No. 6 in Mighty No. 9. He has also worked as a stand-up comedian.

Phillip Reich – Excitable A-Lister – Phillip Reich is known more for his editorial work than he is for his voice acting. While he has featured in titles such as Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final and Persona 5, he has edited movies, worked on visual effects, and been a part of sound departments. He worked behind the scenes on the shows Person of Interest and Auction Hunters. He plays Excitable A-Lister in Monster Hunter: World.

Erica Lindbeck – Serious Handler – Erica Lindbeck has played the English versions of characters in many games and anime shows. Those include Futaba Sakura in Persona 5, Anemone in NieR: Automata, and Lorelei in Pokemon: Generations. However, her most frequent role is something quite different. Since 2015, she has been the voice of Barbie, playing the iconic doll in TV shows, movies and commercials.
