New Final Fantasy XV Update Adds Assassin’s Festival Support and More

Prepping for the festivities.

Square Enix has just released two updates for Final Fantasy XV which includes support for the Assassin’s Festival crossover and adds a few other neat features. The download size for the PS4 is 4 GB, while it’s 6.13 GB for the Xbox One. You can read the full patch notes below, via r/FFXV:

  • Various bug fixes

Version 1.14

  • Implementation of a chapter select (available after completion of the main game)
  • Addition of a bestiary (accessible from the Archives in the Main Menu)
  • Master Assassin’s Robes for players with a Dream Egg (unlocks upon loading a save)
  • Opening of the Assassin’s Festival (until January 31, 2018)
  • Announcement of winning snapshots from third photo contest (viewable at Mother of Pearl in Galdin Quay)
  • Various bug fixes

It’s worth pointing out that players now have access to the chapter select function in Final Fantasy XV. To use the said feature, simply select a main game save slot. However, take note of the things that will carry over.

  • Experience and Levels
  • Ascension skill progression
  • Survival, Fishing, Cooking, and Photography Levels
  • Chocobo Levels, rental ability, and customization
  • Outfits
  • Weapons (you will gain a basic Engine Blade and Drain Lance)
  • Royal Arms
  • Accessories
  • Items
  • Gil
  • Spells
  • Recipes
  • Regalia Customization and customization colors, decals, and components (excluding the Type-F)

Things You Lose

  • Main Quest progress beyond the chapter selected
  • Side Quest progress
  • Hunt progress
  • Map information, map points, and parking spots
  • Sealbreaker’s Key and Menace Dungeon access
  • Regalia Type-F

While the game adds support for the Assassin’s Festival, the DLC still isn’t available to download. Final Fantasy XV is available to play on the PS4 and Xbox One, with a PC version slated to release early next year.
