Telltale Games, Batman, Bruce Wayne

Batman is easily one of the most popular heroes of all time. Rocksteady did an excellent job with the caped crusader, but the mantle has been passed on to Telltale Games (The Walking Dead, Minecraft: Story Mode, Tale From the Borderlands). Fans will now get to experience the life of the Dark Knight in a tale that only those at Telltale could tell. See the story unfold through both the eyes of Batman and Bruce Wayne.

Telltale is trying new things this time around adding in a form of multiplayer. Players will be able to have their choices influenced or even outright dictated by others based on a voting system, providing a new way to experience the stories. There’s also the beautiful visuals, interesting characters, and stunning world building that the studio has come to be known for.

Also, it’s a chance to don the cowl again. Who doesn’t want to be Batman? You can see what it’s like to be the hero yourself when the game hits the PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS3, 360, and mobile platforms.

Don’t Starve Shipwrecked

(Aug. 2)

Don’t Starve intrigued many with its stylized take on survival games. Not only did players have to deal with the normal necessities of life such as hunger and health, they had to also deal with the pressures of a shattering sanity and dark forces. The cruel nature of the game’s world, combined with the fact that you’re given nothing, was easy to be absorbed into. This month, that challenge grows even more.

Shipwrecked brings an entirely new type of terrain for players to survive on the PS4: the open water. Sailing is now an integral part of your quest to escape whatever dark dimension you’ve been thrust into, and weather plays a huge role as well. Torrential downpours, monsoons, powerful winds, and more will change your approach to the great outdoors.

Finally, players will be able to explore the unknown, naming discoveries as they uncover each unique world’s secrets.

Even with the studio sharing details over the past few weeks, there is still a lot to learn about No Man’s Sky. Just how far will exploration take us? What are those mysterious enemies? What lies at the center of it all? That intrigue has been drawing in many fans starving for something new for months now, it will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

(Aug. 23)

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Deus Ex: Human Revolution injected some much-needed life into the Deus Ex franchise. A whole new generation of players was able to enjoy a world where hacking was key and choice molded your experience. Would you choose to further augment yourself and become even more of an outcast to humanity? Would you kill all those that oppose you or vow to never take a life under any circumstances? The political machinations of science companies and corrupt leaders helped to drive the game’s world and immerse you in a questionable future.

Mankind Divided shows us the result of the world continuing down that path. As science has grown stronger, humanity has tasted a new type of hatred and prejudice. You, as Adam Jensen, are stuck in the center of that hatred as you use your augments to save the very people who are against such upgrades to god’s design. What choices will you make when the time comes on PS4, Xbox One, and PC?

Madden NFL 17

(Aug. 23)

Madden NFL 17

August just wouldn’t be complete without Madden NFL 17. One of the most popular annual games just keeps getting better as EA once again improves on the sport. New features enhance the ground game, providing new running options and ways to learn different on-field abilities. The UI is much cleaner as well, allowing players to better understand what’s going on in a game at any given time while giving much tighter control.

The improved franchise mode should keep football fans excited for a long time. What’s really gonna hook them, though, is Madden 365. This provides fresh updates to Madden as things go down in the real-world NFL providing the realest, most immersive Madden experience to date.

God Eater 2: Rage Burst

God Eater 2 Rage burst, PlayStation, Sony, E3 2016, exclusive

Nintendo has been holding on tightly to Capcom’s Monster Hunter series, and who could blame them? There’s just something about going out there, slaying huge, powerful beasts, and using their carcasses to make more powerful gear to slay even more powerful monstrosities. Thankfully, fans on PS4, PC, and Vita aren’t completely out of the loop. While Capcom may be giving them the cold shoulder for now, Bandai Namco and Shift are bringing their own flavor of monster hunting games to those platforms in the form of God Eater 2: Rage Burst.

Much like Capcom’s series, you’ll hunt huge beasts that each require different tactics in order for you to find success. Unlike Monster Hunter, however, consuming these “gods” is part of how you beat them. Absorbing their own powers during battle will give you the edge along with picking the right team and gear for each mission. It’s definitely a darker game as it explores the potential end of all humanity, and one you should keep on your radar.

Attack on Titan

(Aug. 30)

Attack on Titan took the world by storm with its violent animation and Game of Thrones approach to characters (meaning absolutely no one is safe). There was no surprise, therefore, that millions of fans cried out for an action game. While the 3DS did receive a few interesting titles that were pretty entertaining, they failed to capture the essence of the on-screen action from the anime. The speed of the 3D Maneuver Gear, the rush of having a Titan swipe for you in an effort to consume your body, and the act of cutting them down with swift, sharp precision.

Omega Force’s Attack on Titan (subtitled Wings of Freedom in Europe) aims to deliver the sensation of the action that grabbed a hold of fans in the first place. You’ll explore large open areas filled with hundreds of powerful threats as you fly about without being swatted down. Control and strategy will lead you to victory and ensure survival, while recklessness in the face of imminent death will lead only to your demise. Do you have what it takes to be a member of the Survey Corps.? Find out for yourself when the highly anticipated Attack on Titan releases on the PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS3, and Vita.
