Top 50 Best Fallout 4 Xbox One Mods

Let's get moddin'
This article is over 8 years old and may contain outdated information

Campsite

Recommended Videos

Fallout 4 campsite, Xbox One, mods

Campsite might not make your Fallout 4 experience drastically different like some of the other mods on this list, but it definitely adds a sense of realism to surviving out in the wasteland.

Campsite adds craftable and carryable tents and sleeping bags, cloth walls, fires, lanterns, cooking pots, and a new dog bed for Dogmeat. This means that you’ll never be too far away from a settlement to sleep through the night or just take a break with your companion. Heck, if you set up a little campfire, your character and their companion will settle down and bask in its fiery warmth.

It’s a pretty large mod weighing in at 128.6 MB, but it’s worth it to camp in the wasteland. You can check out the mod here.

Respec Mod

FALLOUT 4 PERKS, mods

Ish’s Respec Mod is one of the most useful mods on this list. It adds a new chem called Brainf*ck to traders’ inventories which allows you to completely respec all perk points that you have invested into your character up to that point.

If you’re struggling to find a trader who has it, the recipe for it should also be available at chem benches for two nuclear material and two brain fungus. Farewell wasted perk points, and hello completely respec’d character!

Weightless Junk

Fallout 4, junk, mods

Junk is incredibly important in Fallout 4. You can break it down for its raw materials which are vital for upgrading your armor, weaponry, and just sprucing up your settlements. However, with so much of it lying around the wasteland and some of it weighing quite a bit, it often takes up far too much room in your inventory.

Weightless Junk does exactly what it says on the tin. It makes every junk item that you find in the wasteland completely weightless meaning that you can hoard to your heart’s content and not have to worry about the heavy consequences.

Craftable Plastic Surgeon

Fallout 4, mods, plastic surgery

We all know one person, possibly ourselves, who rushed through the opening moments of Fallout 4 so we could get to the proper gameplay. While we could go all that way to the plastic surgeon in Diamond City, it all just seems like too much effort. Whether it be to make them look more like yourself or to just create an irradiated abomination, the Craftable Plastic Surgeon mod saves you the journey to the surgeon.

Craftable Plastic Surgeon adds a Plastic Surgeon Chair into your settlement items which, when you sit in it, allows you to completely change the way you look. It’s definitely one for us lazy players, but why trek to Diamond City if you can remold your own face in the comfort of your wasteland home? Grab the mod here.

New Exotic Enemies

Fallout 4, exotic enemies, mods

While the world of Fallout 4 is by no means dull, the same old enemies can get a little bit repetitive. That’s where New Exotic Enemies comes in. This mod brings with it a bunch of new NPC enemies to hunt or be hunted by out in the wasteland.

The new types include Baseball Champions, Longshoremen, Synth Raiders, and Renegades to name a few. That’s certainly one way to make the wasteland that little bit more dangerous. Check out the mod’s page here.

Grasslands

fallout 4, mods, grasslands

While we love some of the sights to be seen in Fallout 4’s wasteland, it can all get a little bit dull after a good couple of hundred hours walking around it. Grasslands freshens the wasteland up a bit by placing a bunch of flora and fauna around the world. Vast meadows now cover sprawling areas of formerly barren land, and grass will sprout from crumbling debris.

The mod even ensures to keep all of the vegetation relatively dead-looking, allowing you to keep that irradiate vibe that the game’s original aesthetics nailed so perfectly. Pick up the mod here.

JunkWalls_More_Snaps

Fallout 4, DLC, Wasteland, mods, Workshop

This is one of the mods on this list that fans of settlement building will adore. JunkWalls_More_Snaps gives the default junk walls more snapping options for when you’re wanting to build and extend from them.

For example, if you see a Guard Tower or Guard Post that you’d like to build a nice new room onto, you’ll be able to link this all together much easier than before. It’s a simple mod, but one that will make your time in the Settlement building aspect of the game much more hassle free.

Water Enhancement Textures

fallout 4, mods, graphics

This is another mod that does exactly what its name suggests. Water Enhancement Textures offers alternate and improved water textures for Fallout 4.

While the textures haven’t changed dramatically in this mod, what has changed is the way that the water ripples and moves around. According to the mod’s description, bodies of water will now ripple of their own accord, making water look more dynamic and less artificial.

Foam textures, rain ripple textures, and splash textures and meshes are just some of the elements of the water visuals that have been given a facelift in this mod. If you’re after making your world that little bit prettier, this is one to download.

Spawn Items

Fallout, Vault Boy, mods

It wouldn’t be a list of Fallout 4 mods if there wasn’t this staple mod from the PC community. Spawn Items allows you to spawn any item, weapon, ammunition, or even NPC wherever you are in the world.

You’re not just limited to those items either, Targeting HUDs, Perks, Magazines, pretty much everything you can think of can be spawned wherever you want. With this amount of power at your disposal, there is plenty more explosive fun to be had in the wasteland of Fallout 4.

Craftable Guns and Wepons

Fallout 4, craftable weapons, mods

While upgrading and modifying guns is certainly fun in Fallout 4, it just wasn’t the same as creating your weapons from scratch like you could in Skyrim. Well, thanks to the Craftable Guns and Weapons mod, this is now possible.

Simply head over to a Weapons Crafting Workstation that you build yourself, and you’ll find a pretty long list of weapons that you can craft from scratch. Some of the weapons do require you to have specific perks though, so you may need to invest some points into Demolition Expert, Science!, or Gun Nut.

Ammo Maker

Fallout 4, Far Harbor, 1080p, screenshots, DLC

To go with all of those craftable guns, you’re going to need some craftable ammo. From .44 rounds to mini nukes, you’ll be able to make the ammo you need just as you would craft any other item. Because if your character can craft advanced turret defense systems, they can probably make some bullets.

Fast Travel From Interiors

fast travel, mods, fallout 4

Fast traveling in Fallout 4 can save you a serious amount of time, zipping you across the map to your desired location in 30 seconds rather than the 30 minutes it could take you to walk there. The only downside with the mechanic is that you have to be outside to use it. That means if you’d gotten yourself lost in an enemy-infested building, you needed to make a mad dash to the nearest exit.

Fast Travel From Interiors gets rid of this limitation, allowing you to fast travel from anywhere you want regardless of whether you’re in a building or underground. Probably one of the most convenient mods on our list. Add it to your library here.

Auto loot

mods, autoloot, Fallout 4, level up, quickly, XP, level

Looting in Fallout 4 could sometimes be a tedious affair. Having to wander over to every body, open up the little loot menu and click each item one at a time over to your inventory was a nuisance. Auto Loot makes your stealing life a lot easier, allowing you to enable auto loot filters, set the distance for auto loot filters, and automatically send loot to any of your chosen settlements,. There are a ton of other options that you can change and switch to make looting that much easier. It even comes with its own Pip-Boy holotape in-game.

This is a hugely convenient mod to have at your disposal, but not everyone will be able to use it. The mod requires you to have Automatron and Far Harbor already installed.

Light Overhaul Graphics Mod

fallout 4, mods, graphics

The Light Overhaul Graphics Mod combines a ton of different smaller lighting mods and wraps them up in one comprehensive package. This mod makes changes to lights and image spaces within Fallout 4, making your wasteland prettier.

According to the mod’s page, this one mod improves the shadows and lighting of your Pip-Boy, tweaks lighting in general, improves shadow casting, and more. For those wanting the optimal visual Fallout 4 experience, this is a mod you’ll want to grab.

The Tiny Preston Mod

fallout 4, mods

Yes, you read the name of this mod right. That guy who kept sending you out on countless Settlement rescue missions has been zapped by a shrink ray or something and is now incredibly tiny. So tiny that you’ll probably step on him and never have to hear “Another Settlement needs your help” ever again.

If you’re so tired of seeing Preston’s smug face staring back at you, then this may be the answer to your prayers. Activate this and forget that he ever existed. You’re welcome.

D13 Settlement Institute Synth Spy Detection and Elimination

Fallout 4, d13 institute, mods

A revelation occurred shortly after the release of Fallout 4 last year with people discovering that Synths could have invaded their settlements as spies for the Institute. Thanks to this mod, you no longer have to be worried about your settlements being infiltrated by synths.

This detection trap is an arc-like trap that identifies and disables Institute Synth spies. Craft it from the workshop menu and begin disabling all of those crafty synths lurking within your settlements.

Track Your Companions

Fallout 4, mods, track companions

We’ve all been there, stood lost in the middle of the wasteland, and our companion is nowhere to be seen. Whether it was Valentine, Dogmeat, or Strong, they were by your side one minute, the next they went running off into the distance hunting that Radroach about 20 miles away. You waved goodbye, knowing you had very little chance of ever seeing them again.

Track Your Companions aims to change that, providing you with Misc Quests that label your companions that are lost out in the wasteland wilderness. One of the most useful mods available on Xbox One right now.

Sword of Sif

Fallout 4, sword of sif, mods, dark souls

This one goes out to any Dark Souls fans who have found themselves wandering the wasteland of Fallout 4. This mod gives you the chance to wield the sword of Sif the Great Wolf from Dark Souls, and looks pretty damn impressive, too.

It will, however, require quite a few materials and the level 3 Blacksmith perk. Find yourself 15 bone, 20 silver, and 20 steel and the Sword of Sif can help you wreak havoc in the wasteland.

Uncapped Settlement Surplus

Fallout 4, mods, uncapped settlement surplus

For anyone who was big into the settlement building of Fallout 4, the caps on certain commodities could be a real pain. Especially when you were trying to hit that 100% happiness in a large settlement.

Uncapped Settlement Surplus allows your farmers to continue producing crops after your settler count + 10, water pumps to continue pumping after your settler count + 5, and your vendors to produce more than 50 caps per day per settlement. Your settlements can finally realize their full potential.

Mystical Power Armor

fallout power armor unlimited exp fallout 4

The Mystical Power Armor allows players on console the ability to experience God Mode. While it isn’t technically invincible, the HP of this armor is set to an incredible height, making it so that you’ll pretty much never have a piece break on you. That’s not too shabby, especially if you plan on heading to the more dangerous areas of Fallout 4’s nuclear wasteland.

Maybe try and get two of these suits so your companion can join in on the fun.

Mysterious Cena

Fallout 4, cena, mods

Let’s be real for a minute, the mysterious stranger was an interesting perk, but the character itself was a bit, well… dull. However, what if we said that you could have a certain wrestler take his place.

Yes, Mysterious Cena is actually a thing, complete with the John Cena theme song. Now the wasteland will truly feel the wrath of WWE.

Full Dialogue Interface

Fallout 4

Fallout 4’s dialogue choices aren’t always a great insight into what your character will actually be saying. Oftentimes, players find the brief conversation descriptions to be disturbingly different from what is actually said. On one occassion, one of our staffers accidentally gave the thumbs up to mass murder. It was bad.

Full Dialogue Interface can make it not bad. This Xbox One mod will allow you to see the exact words your character is going to say.

Cheat Terminal

contraptions, fallout 4

Cheat Terminal is the Xbox One’s all-time most popular mod, and for logical reasons. While it can’t give you the power to do absolutely anything, it does offer a list of quite satisfying abilities. You can enable infinite carry weight, perfect V.A.T.S., unlimited S.P.E.C.I.A.L. points, teleporting, and level adding. But wait! There’s more! You can also spawn workbenches, edit your character anywhere, change the weather, activate one-shot kills, and make it so you always get epic items. If you’re looking to have a rules-free Fallout 4 fun time, this is the mod for you.

Everyone’s Best Friend

fallout 4

Nobody likes choosing between Dogmeat and things that aren’t Dogmeat. No feeling is worse than banishing your clumsy friend to the Wasteland in favor of someone with better combat skills and also the basic ability to talk to you. Everyone’s Best Friend, one of the Xbox One’s most favorited Fallout 4 mods, lets you have Dogmeat AND another companion… at the same time.

Is Dogmeat more likely to run into a laser trap and get you killed? Yes. Does he get lost a lot? Sure. Is he incapable of true love? Probably.

But don’t leave him behind.

Pocket Vehicles

fallout ufo

This mod lets you fly a UFO around the Fallout 4 Wasteland. We feel like the benefits of this need little explanation, but here you go:

  1. Flying. Flying is awesome. Birds can do it. Have you ever seen an unhappy bird? Exactly.
  2. UFOs. UFOs are awesome. Have you ever seen an unhappy UFO?
  3. The premise of the mod is that a Khajiit gave it to you.

Hopefully we’ve won you over.

Playable Mirelurk King

fallout 4 mirelurk mod

Cast your average human form aside and play through all of Fallout 4 as a menacing, but emotionally misunderstood, Mirelurk.

This Xbox One mod lets you play in the skin of a Mirelurk King. It comes with four different equippable skins, one of which glows. We recommend the one that glows.

There’s also special Mirelurk attacks like a sonic wave. Sonic waves you can use to kill your Mirelurk brethren. The family you left behind to go search for some random human’s baby.

Paladin Buzz

fallout 4 paladin danse

Paladin Buzz may not seem like the most breathtaking mod choice. It won’t give you godlike abilities. It won’t make you rich, powerful, or even happy necessarily. But you cannot deny it is hilarious. And we’re all for hilarious.

WRVR

fallout 4, nuka-world

The WRVR mod is the ultimate radio makeover. It adds a ton of content to Fallout 4’s radio. New songs, new stations, advertisements, monologues and even some plays, like one starring Grognak the Barbarian.

What’s more is that the radio features a DJ, Casey Kessler, whom you can find at the radio station and recruit as a companion. Music and a new friend – all anyone needs out in the Wasteland.

Plenty ‘O’ Exploration

fallout 4 plenty exploration

While exploring Fallout 4’s world is great, you’ll often come across a lot of boarded doors and buildings you cannot enter, especially in Concord. With the Plenty ‘O’ Exploration mod, you’ll be able to explore nine new interiors in Concord. It doesn’t just stop there, though. Installing this mod will also give you new places to explore in the world. Nothing like some new areas to loot.

What’s more, some of them even have their own sub-stories about the people who lived there that you can read through terminals and notes.

Musician’s Mod

fallout 4, trophies, ps4

This Fallout 4 Xbox One mod goes a long way to expanding the library of songs to listen to in the game. Adding over 200 songs as part of a new radio station in Goodneighbor, and band clothing so you can show your support for your favorite artists, there’s plenty of content here.

Musician’s Mod also gives you the ability to broadcast ads on air which add caps to the station’s safe each time one is played. Not a bad reward for a bit of a quick work.

Dark Husky Dogmeat

husky

Let’s all be real for a moment. Original Fallout 4 Dogmeat is great and all, but what if we could change him up a little bit.

Well, you can completely change his breed thanks to the Dark Husky Dogmeat mod for the Xbox One. Dogmeat won’t gain any new abilities from this mod, but it does give him a stylish new look.

Aliens of the Commonwealth

mods, fallout 4, ps4

While you could come across an alien in Fallout 4 if you met a specific set of criteria, they weren’t as prominent in the Commonwealth as they were in previous games. That’s where the Aliens of the Commonwealth Xbox One mod comes into play.

This mod changes the Federal Surveillance Center K-21B into an alien base of operations. Once you’ve invaded the base and eliminated its inhabitants, you’ll be rewarded with a chest filled with some awesome loot including Zeta’s Revenge Pistol which fires Liberty Prime’s eye lasers.

True Storms: Wasteland Edition

true storms

Fallout 4’s storms were cool and all, but True Storms: Wasteland Edition takes them to a whole other level. This Xbox One mod is essentially a complete overhaul of the storm system, including heavy and unique weathers, new sound effects, particle effects, textures, fogs, and plenty more. Heck, there’s even different types of storm which will affect how you take on a situation or when you go out exploring.

If you’ve been looking for mods to make the weather cycle that little bit more realistic in Fallout 4, then look no further.

Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch

unofficial fallout 4

It’s no secret that Fallout 4 has quite a few bugs and glitches in it, and with the sheer scale of the game and limitless possibilities at players’ disposals, it’s not surprising. However, that doesn’t mean you just have to accept them.

The Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch is constantly receiving updates in its attempt to fix ever bug with Fallout 4 not officially resolved by the developers. This includes quest, NPC, and object bugs. To top it all off, the whole thing is completely safe to install, too, meaning you won’t have to worry about losing save files or suffering from constant crashes.

Submersible Power Armor

submersible power armor

Yes, this is exactly what it looks like. The Submersible Power Armor Fallout 4 Xbox One mod adds one full set of BioShock-inspired power armor, three helmet variants for the different Big Daddies, and movement mods to boost speed, carrying capacity, and oxygen levels while underwater.

If you’re a BioShock fan, then this one should be right near the top of your list.

Crowded Commonwealth

fallout 4, ps4 pro, mod support, open-world

Did you ever wander an area of the Commonwealth in Fallout 4 and find it felt like it had never been ventured into before? Well, Crowded Commonwealth aims to fill the remaining areas of wilderness with new and interesting locations for you to explore.

However, these aren’t just barebones areas. Each one has its own hidden story behind it. You’ll be able to explore brainwashing schools to massive parks, all of which feel right at home in the Commonwealth.

Snap’n Build

snap n build

Fallout 4’s settlement building feature has been put to good use. Fans have made some incredible settlements of their own, meticulously placing walls and items to nail the aesthetic they were after.

While you can definitely do this, Snap’n Build allows you to quickly and easily build a range of impressive buildings. From greenhouses to brick houses, there’s something for everyone in this Fallout 4 mod. If you care about your settlements but don’t want to invest a ton of time, Snap’n Build is the answer to your prayers.

Unlimited Building

Fallout 4, DLC, Wasteland, mods, Workshop

While we’re on the topic of settlements in Fallout 4, we’ve got another mod to help you realize your true potential as an architect. One of the things that hinders the vanilla Fallout 4 settlement building is the limit to the number of items or buildings you can place in a settlement. Even paintings and rugs took up precious space in your settlement.

The Unlimited Building mod allows you to build away to your heart’s content. Now, as long as you have the crafting materials, you can fill your settlement with all of the junk you can possibly imagine.

Batman Beyond

fallout 4, mods, batman beyond

Batman is all about kicking ass and taking names as he clears up the seedy criminal underbelly of Gotham. Therefore, it makes perfect sense that you’d want to explore the Commonwealth in the Batman Beyond armor and put an end to those pesky raiders once and for all.

The Batman Beyond Xbox One mod features the Batman Beyond armor, Batgirl’s suit, the Arkham Knight suit, and a Batman Beyond themed flag. A must for all Bat-fans.

Place Anywhere

place anywhere

Fallout 4’s settlement building was great fun, right up until the place you wanted to put that darn refrigerator flashed up red. The game said it couldn’t be done. The Place Anywhere mod says otherwise.

This is an incredibly simple mod, but one that will be warmly welcomed by any settlement building enthusiasts out there. Place Anywhere allows you to place objects in red zones, resize objects, toggle object snapping, and gives more precise object movement and rotation. Perfect for putting the finishing touches to your classy bar.

A Cannibal in Concord

fallout cannibal in concord

If you’re looking for some fresh new questing content to sink your teeth into, then A Cannibal in Concord is the perfect mod for you. Based on real life serial killers and cannibals, A Cannibal in Concord offers a new house location in Concord. You’ll need to move objects and search the building to find your way through the house and witness its horrors.

If you find the idea of serial killers and cannibals a bit disturbing, you may want to give it a miss. Otherwise, get exploring this creepy house already!

Visible Galaxy 4K

fallout 4 visible galaxy

If you look up into the night sky of Fallout 4, you’ll likely be disappointed. There are no stunning sights to be seen in the sky of the vanilla game, yet you’d think after all of those years light and air pollution would have subsided a little.

Visible Galaxy 4K brings the Milky Way galaxy to life with stunning 4k textures and sprawls through the Commonwealth night sky. Evenings in an apocalyptic wasteland have never looked so good.

Awesome Mix Vol. 1

awesome mix

Are you a fan of Guardians of the Galaxy’s soundtrack? What a silly question, of course you are! Well, thanks to the Awesome Mix Vol. 1 mod on the Xbox One, you’ll be able to bop your way through the wasteland to the catchy soundtrack.

All you need to do is tune into the radio station from your Pip-Boy and you’re all set.

Deadly Bosses of the Commonwealth

mods, fallout 4, ps4

Once you’ve cleared Fallout 4’s storyline, DLCs, and have picked up all of the trophies or achievements on offer, you might be struggling to find something to do out in the wasteland. Deadly Bosses of the Commonwealth aims to fix that, with eight tough bosses to test your combat skills against.

Each of the bosses added is helping out one of the game’s factions in some way, so it’s down to you to track them down and put an end to ’em.

Welcome to Goodneighbor

Fo4_Goodneighbor

Goodneighbor has a ton of character in Fallout 4, but there’s seldom reason to revisit the place once you’re done with the quests that take you there. Welcome to Goodneighbor rectifies this by adding two story quests, three assassination missions, seven new establishments, player homes with workshops, new enemies, and plenty more.

The mod’s creator believes there’s roughly two to three hours of content here, so get installing and revisit the ghoulish settlement.

Unlimited Crafting Supplies Container

infinite crafting materials fallout 4

Fallout 4’s crafting system really heightened that feeling of being a survivor. Pillaging a school of all of its pencils just so you could get some lead to increase your armor’s radiation resistance was likely a common event for most players.

Of course, spending a ton of time looking for these supplies could also become a bit tedious, and that’s where the Unlimited Crafting Supplies Container mod comes into play. It’s a hollowed out rock chest outside of Vault 111 in the back of a car that’s filled with huge quantities of every crafting item/ material in the game. You don’t have to use it, but it’s always nice to have it there as a last resort.

Star Wars – The Lightsaber

fallout 4 lightsaber

When the Fat Man or any of Fallout 4’s wacky weapons just aren’t as fun to use as they used to be, you need a weapons mod. Of course, there are plenty of different weapons you can bring into the game, but the lightsaber has to be one of the most badass.

With the ability to pick from thirteen blade colors, seven hilt designs, a variety of sounds, and your blade’s length, the Star Wars – The Lightsaber mod, is definitely comprehensive. Now you can finally own the lightsaber you always dreamed of.

Beast Master: Creature Companion Overhaul

fallout 4 beast master

Fallout 4’s Wasteland Workshop DLC introduced players to the idea of capturing the different creatures of The Commonwealth so you could put them to battle or just keep them as huge, terrifying pets.

Beast Master: Creature Companion Overhaul, builds on this and gives you a ton of new ways to interact with these creatures. You can now take them with you as a companion, give them a new name, feed them treats, paint them with body paint, and even teach them tricks. A Deathclaw companion is definitely what you want on your side in an intense wasteland battle.

Non Lethal or Lethal Resolution

far harbor

Fallout 4 did a great job of offering you an abundance of weird and wonderful lethal weapons, especially with that harpoon gun. However, on your adventure across The Commonwealth, you’ll likely have come across scenarios where you’d rather take a non lethal route.

The Non Lethal or Lethal Resolution mod is all about giving you this choice. From a tranquilizer gun to incapacitating grenades, there’s an option to let you and your foes get out of any scenario alive.

NCR Veteran Ranger Armor

ncr veteran ranger

The NCR Veteran Ranger Armor mod for Fallout 4 is incredibly popular with Xbox One users, and it’s not surprising. This mod introduces two sets of Veteran Ranger Armor and a set of Riot Gear in case things get particularly messy out there.

You can finally bring the iconic, heavy, modifiable armor from the West Coast to The Commonwealth and explore in style and ample protection.
