Marvel Ultimate Alliance Cap

Marvel Ultimate Alliance saw a re-release on the current generation of consoles towards the tail-end of July. While it has its issues, the game does bring along a very manageable list of trophies for avid collectors. Marvel Ultimate Alliance isn’t a particularly difficult game, especially when playing with friends, but it can be a bit time consuming, which is possibly the only major factor working against it. Even so, if you have some patience and don’t mind a bit of a grind, Marvel Ultimate Alliance will help drive that Platinum ticker up one.

There are some collectibles to gather, but you can easily find guides for those online, as the game has been out for some time. Also, there are some sweet spots such as the Asgard simulation levels where you can earn tons of money and experience. Just stick with it, and watch the trophies roll in.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2

Marvel Ultimate Alliance

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 is a lot like its predecessor. A lot of the trophies evolve around beating the game and a lot of collecting. You’ll need to level up characters, unlock costumes, and beat a lot of challenges (none of which are terribly difficult). The one draw to obtaining the Platinum to this entry is that you’ll have to play it twice.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 has two stories, each with their own trophies for you to collect. Neither takes a very long time, but it can be a bit of a slog if you’re not really into replays. Either way, it’s a relatively easy Platinum that you shouldn’t pass up on if you’re trying to increase that trophy score of yours.

Tumblestone

tumblestone, july, games

Tumblestone is a highly addictive, fast-paced puzzle game that will test your wits and your speed as you play a sort of reverse Tetris. It’s quite fun, so that should help with the amount of time that you need to actually obtain the Platinum. Of course, even if you find yourself struggling to get that highly coveted trophy, you can still get quite a few others from this game.

Several trophies revolve around beating the story and leveling up. Both will come naturally as you play the game, and your skill should increase as well. The rest are locked behind challenges. While all are definitely beatable, the toughest ones pit you against nightmare bots, essentially AI that is way too good at Tumblestone. Only the most persistent will beat the computer on that level, but you can still increase the amount of trophies you have by a healthy amount with this title, so no harm in giving it a shot.

Minecraft Story Mode: Episode 7 – Access Denied

You can always count on Telltale for an easy batch of trophies to get you through a month. Minecraft Story Mode received its seventh episode, Access Denied, late July and it brought along another handful of easy to nab trophies for your collection. Like pretty much all of the developer’s other games, you simply have to play through the episode to grab them all. Once you see the credits roll, it’s on to the next game until the next episode releases.

Song of the Deep

Song of the Deep, Insomniac, review

Song of the Deep is a new title from Insomniac Games (Ratchet & Clank, Sunset Overdrive) that was published by GameStop. It’s a metroidvania-styled game that puts players in control of a submarine in a sea full of monsters and mysteries. It also happens to have an easy list of trophies, although there is no Platinum.

A majority of the achievements revolve around simply beating the story. There are a few hidden trophies though, which you can see here, that require simple methods, found here. It’s a beautiful game to explore and an easy ten trophies to add to your growing list. What’s not to like?
