PS Plus Free Games Predictions

It’s almost time for the spookiest month of the year. So we have some PS Plus free games predictions for what titles PS4 players might get during that month of horror.

Sony has a track record of offering Halloween/horror-esque games in October, or at least games that have a scary element to them.

For example, in October 2016 we had Resident Evil, in October 2017 we had the Amnesia: Collection, October 2018 we had Friday the 13th: The Game, and October 2019 we had The Last of Us Remastered.

That’s why for next month we predict World War Z from Mad Dog Games would be a perfect choice.

World War Z has that zombie element tying it to an October theme, and it’s on sale for 33% off until Oct. 1. PS Plus games often go on sale prior to being offered for free so Sony can try to get as many purchases out of them as it can beforehand.

It’s also worth mentioning that if there ever was a time for Sony to offer a game that has previously been offered on PS Plus before, whether it’s as one of the two main game inclusions or a bonus third, it would be Dead by Daylight by from Behaviour Interactive.

Dead by Daylight was offered on PS Plus back in August 2018, and at the time the game was plagued with numerous bugs and latency issues that made it a contentious pick for PS Plus.

Recently, the game has had a huge resurgence in players likely due to the combination of its recent graphics and content updates this month making the game look much more realistic and it becoming an increasingly popular game to showcase gameplay footage on the social media app, Tik Tok.

Dead by Daylight makes most of its money from DLC packs offering new survivors, killers, outfits, and more, so it would make sense with its new popularity to get it in the hands of more players ASAP, plus its horror-esque gameplay would be a perfect pick for the month of October.

Not to mention Dead by Daylight is 30% off until Oct. 1 as well.

However, picking a game that has already been on PS Plus for a new month would be an unprecedented move by Sony. So while it’s not likely, its simply something to think about for PS Plus predictions.

The Smaller Game – Celeste

PS Plus Free Games Predictions

After the larger game, a smaller indie titles often makes the PS Plus picks list every month as well.

The indie pick for the month of October has historically never also been a horror game, so for next month our PS Plus prediction is 2018 platformer Celeste.

Celeste is an extremely popular game, which has won numerous game awards since its release over two years ago. Including The Game Award for Best Independent Game and Games for Impact Award.

Players would be overjoyed to receive this title on PS4 for free. In Celeste you help Madeline climb Celeste Mountain, with the game offering super tight controls for amazing platforming gameplay that’s somehow difficult but not discouraging.

If we don’t see Celeste next month, then expect it sometime soon.
