May was a pretty strong month for the Switch, as the console saw big releases like Disgaea 5 Complete, Minecraft, and Thumper. However, June is looking a little bit slow for the console, which is kind of expected as the summer drought is upon us, and most developers and publishers are getting ready for E3 in a couple of weeks.
Still, there are a couple of titles that Switch owners can look forward to. The big game of the month is ARMS, Nintendo’s new first-party motion control fighting game. The game lets you select from a roster of 10 colorful fighters, all with delightfully springy and extendable arms that you can use to punch your opponents. It’s simple, but surprisingly fun. From our time with it, we’ve found that the motion controls are pretty responsive as well, and the game has quite a bit of depth to it. Our official review of ARMS will go live before the game’s launch.
If you can read Japanese, the Seiken Densetsu Collection is also available this June, but only in Japan for now. The collection comes with Seiken Densetsu: Final Fantasy Gaiden, Seiken Densetsu 2, and Seiken Densetsu 3. The Switch is region-free, so you could always import it if you like, or grab it off the Japanese eShop.
If none of this month’s offerings appeal to you, remember to check last month’s releases for possible games that you might want to pick up soon.
