XBOX GAMES WITH GOLD FREE GAMES PREDICTIONS FOR JULY 2018

Very similar to the PS Plus subscription with Sony, those who purchase Microsoft’s online subscriptions for their Xbox consoles are gifted a few free games every month through the Games with Gold program. While we aren’t sure what the official list of free games will be for July 2018 just yet, we can take a few guesses as to which ones might make the list with a little speculation.

Usually a couple larger games make the list every month, and we suspect Just Cause 3 would be a worthy candidate for a couple reasons. The first is it has already been offered on PS Plus back in August 2017, and Microsoft has been known to offer the same games as Sony a few months later. For example, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain came to PS Plus in October 2017 and then to Games with Gold in May 2018, or Gone Home that came to PS Plus in June 2016 and Games with Gold in October 2017.

Another reason we might see Just Cause 3 is it was actually already offered for free for Xbox owners during a weekend back in May for Xbox Live Gold members. If Microsoft is willing to offer it for free at one point, it’s not hard to imagine it offering for it for free again a few months later through another subscription.

Our second choice for a larger game to possibly hit Game with Gold next month is LEGO Worlds that released back in March 2017. It isn’t new for Microsoft to add LEGO games to their free games lists, with LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga being free in May 2017 and LEGO Pirate of the Caribbean: The Video Game free a few months later in July 2017. In fact, for June 2018 LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues is free on Games with Gold, so next month might mimic what Microsoft did last year and follow up with another LEGO game right away.

Check out page two where we also take a stab at guessing what possible indie game could make the cut next month as well.

indies

After some bigger games, at least one indie titles goes onto Games with Gold every month as well, and strategy, card/board video game Armello would be a great choice, if not next month then sometime very soon.

Armello hasn’t even made it to PS Plus yet, and the game was well-received when it released on Xbox One in August 2016 after initially only being released on PC and PS4. In the game you control anthropomorphic animals that are divided up into numerous clans across the Kingdom of Armello. It combines card game strategy with board game visuals and RPG elements string everything together as well.

It features online multiplayer between 2-4 players, which would entice Microsoft even more to include it as an indie entry since multiplayer titles encourage more users to download them in order to play with friends for free in the future.

Make sure to check back in the next week or so for the official reveal of the Games with Gold free games list for July 2018.
