Star Wars Force Awakens

So it’s the holiday and you still haven’t picked up a gift for that special Jedi/Sith in your life. It’s hard to nail down exactly what to get someone, especially when there are so many options available. Luckily for you, Disney decided to put out Star Wars Episode VII during the holidays which just made your life a bit easier. There isn’t a Star Wars fan in the world who doesn’t want to see this upcoming flick, so why not treat your special someone to a movie?

Chances of grabbing opening night tickets are slim to none unless you live in some remote area with very few movie lovers, but since it’s a holiday gift, literally any day within this month will do. Just go online on sites like Fandango, find a nearby theater, and get some tickets for you and your giftee. You can even kill several birds with one stone by taking a bunch of people to see it. Nothing like a highly anticipated movie for the holidays.

Star Wars Battlefront

So that Star Wars fanatic you need to purchase a gift for also happens to be a gamer? Perfect. DICE recently released Star Wars Battlefront, a sort of reboot to the series so many fans fell in love with years ago. Players participate in large scale battles and scenarios pulled straight from the blockbuster series. From racing speeder bikes, to taking down AT-ATs on Hoth, and even flying some of the most signature space vehicles in the franchise (we’re looking at you, Slave I), there is no shortage of fanfare for any fan looking to have some fun. Heck, you can even take control of several major characters including Darth Vader, Han Solo, and Boba Fett.

With upcoming content planning on adding in some Episode VII goodies, there is no better time to pick this game up for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or PC.

Other Star Wars Games

Star Wars has been around for quite some time and because of that there are tons of video games that take place within and around the vast lore that has been laid out. While it’s true that some are better off never being played (you will never be forgiven, Kinect Star Wars), but there are some true gems out there in the galaxy waiting to be played. You’ll want to check what platform(s) the person your shopping for has before picking a game, but you can definitely find something. Here’s a list of some solid recommendations:

There are other games out there worth taking a look at as well, so don’t be afraid to shop around. These suggestions are solid titles most fans will love, though, so find out which ones your giftee doesn’t have.

Star Wars PS4 Bundle

Now this particular gift idea is running out of stock. This Lord Vader emblazoned PlayStation 4 and equally impressive controller design is a limited edition so if you want to pick one up, you’ll need to do so ASAP. But, if you are able to get your hand on one of these, you will be the Star Wars MVP of the holidays. Just look at that bundle. What self-respecting Star Wars fan wouldn’t want one of these sitting in their entertainment centers?

If, for some reason, you are unable to get the full bundle, the controller alone will still make an excellent gift (at a much lower cost, too).

Lightsabers

No Sith or Jedi is complete without a trusty lightsaber. While you aren’t able to get a real one capable of cutting through thick steel walls, there are plenty of replicas and toys that cover the entire price spectrum. You can pick up the $200 Kylo Ren Force FX Lightsaber at GameStop as a perfect gift for those looking forward to the newest movie. But maybe you and your special someone prefer something a bit more classic or even custom?

There are companies that create customized lightsabers, as well as sell kits so that you or your Star Wars fan can construct one as you see fit. One good site to check out is Saber Forge, which has a wide selection of lightsabers and parts. Don’t be afraid to do a bit more window shopping, though, so you can find the perfect gift.

Figures

Figures are a perfect gift for anyone of any age. Whether that individual is a collector, likes to play with toys, or just wants something cool to put on display. With a franchise as large and beloved as Star Wars there is no shortage of options to choose from.

Take a look at the Star Wars Variant Play Arts Kai Darth Vader figure. Look at how badass Vader looks in his new, much more modern looking armor as he prepares to force choke the life out of some unsuspecting toy. If you like that one you should check out the other Play Arts Star Wars figures. It should be noted that these things are never on the cheap side, so if you’re shopping on a budget there are several options at your disposal. There are tons of affordable options in the realm of Star Wars figures that would make perfect full gifts or even stocking stuffers.

Disney Infinity 3.0 figures also make the perfect additions to a collection or the top of a desk or shelf, and you don’t even need the game to enjoy the cool looking little figures. Witch a constantly growing selection you can start up someones collection or help one grow.

LEGO

LEGO Star Wars sets are not for the faint of heart. Some of them are massive affairs and can prove to be pretty costly such as the Death Star pictured above. But the combination of LEGO’s focus on creativity and all of the slick vehicles, fantastic sets, and must have characters of Star Wars make for the perfect marriage. LEGO sets are great gifts for a single person, a group, or something to share with your own child. Set some time aside to build large sets over a series of days, or watch as whoever receives the gift goes wild creating their own additions to the Star Wars universe.

Whether you’re looking for something classic or something a bit more modern, the LEGO Store certainly has something perfect.

Apparel and Accessories

If you’re the type who only likes to purchase clothing as gifts don’t worry, you’ll still be able to get some neat gifts perfect for that Star Wars fan in your life. There are many outlets that have a wide selection of gear from a galaxy far, far away for you to choose from. Stores like Hot Topic, Target, Old Navy,  and, of course, the Disney Store have tons of different shirts, hoodies, accessories, and other things to choose from. And the best part is that they cover all styles, sizes, and ages.

If you want something a bit more unique you can always check out one of the many cool T-Shirt vendors online such as Red Bubble for some really awesome looking shirts.

The Films (Duh)

Star Wars

Something that any fan of Star Wars needs to have is the complete film collection. Say what you want about Episodes I, II, and III, but they are all part of the greater story that fans have been falling in love with for decades. And it’s the perfect time to marathon all 6 of the already released films before settling down to watch Episode VII later this month. This is an especially good gift if you want to introduce someone to the greatest movie series of all time (maybe not the greatest, but it is really good).

You can pick up the complete set on Blu-Ray for a pretty decent price right now on Best Buy, Amazon, Target, and Walmart. You can also get the movies digitally, even on video game consoles such as the PS4 and Xbox One.

With these gift ideas, you will bring the Force to the holidays and make all of those hopeful padawans in your life happy.

May the Force be with you.
